Hello Crafty Friends
I had the pleasure of hosting a Retreat Day for West Australian Stampin’Up! Demonstrators. With over 45 ladies in attendance on the day, I can tell you it was a lot of planning, a lot prep but all worth it on the day. We had nearly $1500 in prizes which saw us give away two Big Shots, two Stamparatus, two Envelope Punch Boards and a few SAB Kits.
Thanks to the ladies who arrived early to help set up the tables (and put them away) We had the luxury of space in the form of an indoor basketball court. We each had a table which all had a pretty decorated bag, copper tea tin and some grid paper.
Each attendee was asked to case a card from either the current Annual or Occasions Catalogue, and to provide eight kits enabling others to recreate their chosen card on the day.
We had a Big Shotting station, a room with the heat tools and tables for the non card projects which I provided. In total the ladies made ten projects which included eight cards and a decorated soap box and mini blackboard.
All handmade soaps were created by me almost 6 weeks prior to the event. This allows the soap to cure and become hard before gifting to my stamping sisters. I chose a broad selection of scents for them to chose from - Grapefruit, Berries, Melon, Sandalwood, Lavender, Pineapple and Pina Colada.
We had a 25 minute time limit to create each card, with the soap box and mini blackboards as fill in projects through out the day. There were many prize patrols (yes, we banged on the tables just like being at an Onstage event lol) with my Upline Sarah Klass winning one of the Stamparatus.
The lovely Sue Liddington brought along 3 dozen cupcakes which apparently fall out of her oven, often lol She is such a pocket rocket, I'm not surprised she didn't find whipping up 3 dozen cupcakes was no effort at all.
I could not have held such a huge event without the help I received from my beautiful stamping sisters - Sharon Holder, Nicole Wilson, Denise Buetler, and Leah Parkinson. These ladies helped with the decorating of bags and tins, carted boxes to the venue, brought morning tea, tables and crafting tools. Also, Claire, Heidi & Fairey - they also helped set up and pack down which was hard work!! I am forever grateful for these lovely ladies and so thankful to have them all in my life. Love You All x
My lovely sideline Jane Marshall, shared these pics of her projects on the day.
I cannot remember the source of the next photo - but again this one shows another lovely selection of the cards made by the participant on the day.
Sue's cupcakes - yummo!!!!
Thanks to everyone who attended (insert big smooches here) I hope you all had a fabulous day creating alongside other WA Demonstrators. It was fantastic to put names to faces and meeting lots of other Demo's is always a treat.
Thank You to Mandy Depiazzi and Shannon Kissane for sitting next to me - I know I am a painful crafter to sit next to so thanks for putting up with me!
Congratulations to all the prize patrol winners!! Enjoy your new crafty goodies xx
I am looking forward to planning the next one! New venue is needed so if anyone has any recommendations for venues in Perth, shoot me a message so I can look into it.
Until next time, stay awesome and stay crafty
