Let me show you how to create the "shadow effect" that is the focal point of my card. Gather the supplies: Stamp Set of choice, Shimmery White Card, Inks you wish to use for your sunset colours, sponges and a Black Stampin' Write marker.
Start by punching a circle from a Post It Note and place it onto centre of the Shimmery White Card. Sponge sunset colours - Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Flirty Flamingo.
Once you have the sponged the sunset, remove the Post It note and then stamp chosen image, ensuring a portion appears in the "sun" area.
Now, take a Black Stampin' Write marker and fill in the stamped image. I used the brush tip to fill the main portion of the image and then the fine tip to trace the edges of the stamped image.
Using the brush tip end of the marker, I have coloured the base of the card front and then stamped the Palm tree image from the new Timeless Tropical stamp set.
Need more inspiration with the uber cute Meerkats? Here are two creations I previously shared on Instagram.
Using the Cacti, Lizard and Party Hat stamps, I have stamped and coloured the images on a piece of Whisper White card and then die cut with the Rectangle Stitched dies along with the Granny Apple Green card behind. The Meerkat Gang has been stamped in Memento, colouring using Stampin' Blends and then fussy cut. The "Happy Birthday" greeting was created using the Well Said Stamp Set, white heat embossing the two sentiments onto Black card.
For the next card I created a sunset sponged background, stamped it with the "gang of Meerkats" and inserted it behind a "photo frame" made from Whisper White card that has been embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder. The Meerkat images were coloured with Stampin' Blends, fussy cut and adhered with mini dimensionals over the stamped image inside the frame. I couldn't resist adding the line of lizards along the bottom of the photo frame which were also coloured with Blends, fussy cut and adhered with mini dimensionals.
That is all from me today. Up next in this months Blog Hop is my super talented friend, Jennifer Picard with her stunning project which I am sure you will totally love.
