Stampin' Up! Corporate Blog Post

Hello, Crafty Friends.

I'm a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator from Perth, Western Australia, and a 2019 Artisan Design Team member. I am so delighted to be sharing my creativity with you today with my recent post for the Stampin' Up! page.

With the Christmas Festive season just around the corner, I was inspired to create a project showcasing some of the amazing products from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. I love giving handmade gifts and thought  a box filled with Gift Tags would be perfect. Family and Friends will adore the convenience and practicality of the Gift Tags and after they have all been attached to gifts, they are left with a  pretty decorated box that can be used again.

The Pizza style box and gift tags have been created using card, stamps, dies and ink. The box holds 18 Tags - 2 of each design. The Pizza Box has been created from Crumb Cake card stock (item 121685) with layers of Whisper White card (item 106549) To decorate the box I grabbed some White Embossing Paste (item 141979) and using the "Dotty" stencil from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks (item 150697) , covered an A4 sheet of Crumb Cake card stock.  Once dry this was cut down into sections large enough to cover the exterior of the box.

Three die cut circles have been adhered to the top of the box. These have been created from Gold Foil Sheets (item 132622) and Basic Black card (item 121688) using Stitched Shapes Dies (item 145372) and Layering Circles Dies (item 141705).  Next, I picked a couple of my favourite dies to inlay, die cut or adhere to the circles, choosing the deer from the Snow Globes Scenes Dies (item 150655), the "jolly" word die from Jolly Season Dies (item 150648) and the star from the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box Dies (item 150644).

The centre circle has been glued to the stamped and die cut wreath image made with the Tidings All Around Bundle (item 152371) before adhering to the box. White Bakers Twine (124262), Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (item 146912) and a Gold Jingle Bell (item 149598) were also used to embellish the box.

I went with the same neutral colour scheme used for the box to create the tags stamping images in Memento Tuxedo Black (item 132708) and Whisper White Craft (item 147277) are the only two ink pads used.

Lets take a closer look at the tags. As mentioned earlier, there are 2 each of 9 different designs. There are four different base shapes created using dies with the exception of the "tag shape" which was made simply by cutting the corners from a rectangle.

The following dies were used to create the tags bases: Stitched Shapes, Stitched Nested Labels (item 149638) and the Heirloom Frames Dies & 3D Embossing Folders (152325).

The striped and gingham stamps from the Keepsake stamp set has been used to create a few of the tags backgrounds along with the Black and White details on the Black Christmas stockings. The remaining of the backgrounds were made with strips of Whisper White card (for the striped "bauble" with "tis the Season" die cut), or by repetitively stamping the snowflake image from the Tiny Keepsakes Stamp Set (item 150460) and some dotty embossing paste left over from decorating the box.

The Christmas Banner sentiments and die cut deer were created with the Toile Christmas Bundle (item 152367).  The "Christmas Cheer" greeting is from Tidings All Around Stamp Set (150465) and the  "Holly Jolly" on the little tag is from Tiny Keepsakes.  The stamped "cottage" image is from the Still Scenes Stamp Set (item 150503). The Deer and Tree die cuts were made with the Snow Globe Scenes Dies. And finally, the "tis the Season" word die cut comes from the Jolly Season Dies.

Before packing the completed tags into the box, don't forget to stamp the back of the tags with "to: from:" -  I've used the stamp from the Tidings All Around set.

I decided to "wrap" the box by popping it into a  Black Gift Bag filled with tissue and gold shreddie and then attaching one of the gift tags from the Box.

I hope I have inspired you to have a go at creating a box of gift tags this Festive Season.

Until next time, stay crafty
