Colour INKspiration #63

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to Colour INKspiration #63. Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray and Gold Foil are this fortnight's challenge colours. How delightful is this trio of colours. I absolutely adore the inspiration picture below but somehow my creation looks nothing like this gorgeous image.

My card today starts with a piece of Rococo Rose In Colour gingham DSP. The next layer is a piece of Shimmery White card stock that has had a water colour wash applied using Seaside Spray ink with an Aqua Painter. Once dry, this piece was then ran through the Big Shot using the Subtle Embossing Folder. 

I decided to incorporate the Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray colours into this creation by stamping images from the Free As A Bird stamp set onto some Gingham In Colour DSP. These images were then fussy cut and added to the card front using a combination of Tombow and mini dimensionals.

The sentiment from Daisy Lane has been stamped and then die cut using the Stitched Shapes Dies. Tucked behind the sentiment is a vellum die cut circle.

I almost completely forgot about the gold foil so at the last minute I added a strip under the sentiment and a few die cut "leaves" to the floral cluster.  To finish the card I added a few 2019 In Colour Faceted Dot embellishments in Seaside Spray.

Just Add Ink Challenge #463- Choose Two.

Good Day Crafty Friends

Welcome to this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge #463 - Just Choose Two. I hope you will join the Just Add Ink Crew and play along with us - it really is simple. You have a choice of using Foil, Ribbon or Sequins. Create a card using two of the options and share it with us - Simples :) The more the merrier!!!

For today's creation I decided to use some Gold Foil with a little bit of ribbon. I was originally aiming for ribbon and sequins but decided the little pearl embellishments looked prettier, so at the last minute I swapped the sequins out and added the Gold Foil die cut.

I started with a water coloured background which was then embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder. I love this folder and especially find it useful on water coloured card fronts that maybe slightly warped from the water - the embossing flattens the card stock perfectly.

White Flax Ribbon along with a strip of DSP and scallop die cut were added to the centre of the card front with the Blushing Bride Stitched Circle Die Cut adhered over top. The Gold Foil die cut has also been adhered under the stitched circle.

The floral images have been created using the Floral Essence stamp set. To achieve the water colour washed images, simply apply a spritz of water directly to the stamp after ink application. Once dry, the images have been fussy cut and adhered to the centre of the card front with dimensionals. A few loops of Gold Metallic Twine and some Old Olive Vellum die cut leaves were tucked in behind the flowers to finish the card.

Be Inspired Blog Hop - April - Watercolour

I am super excited to be joining my first Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. The Be Inspired Design Team are a group of extremely talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe, uniting once a month to share themed creative and inspiring projects.  You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia - Hello and Welcome.

If you are following the Hop, you may have arrived here having just visited Janneke de Jong in the Netherlands. Thanks for joining us. Our theme for today's hop is WATERCOLOUR - yay!!! I do love me some watercolouring.

I have two cards to share with you today, created using two different types of water colour mediums.

The first card has had the main image white heat embossed onto Shimmery White Card Stock and then colour applied with Watercolour Pencils. An aqua painter with no water in the tube was used to blend the colour from the water colour pencils by dipping the tip of the Aqua Painter into water and brushing off any excess water onto scrap paper.

When working with such bright colours I like to really make them pop by teaming them with black and hints of metallic's like below with silver accents in the ribbon and embellishments.

The second card uses Stampin' Up!'s Classic Ink in various colours applied with a wet Aqua Painter. To achieve the vivid tones, ink has been applied several times, drying with a heat tool in between layers and ink application. The splashes and little pools of ink are easy to achieve by blowing the ink around with a Heat Tool.

Once dry, the water colour card front has been embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder. Glimmer White card stock has been used to Die Cut the "Happy" Thinlit which has been stacked on a few layers of plain white card to achieve a little bit of height. A couple of epoxy heart embellishments have been added which of course the photo does not show very well but trust me when I say they are there and look amazing.
