Gingham Gala - Soft Sea Foam Trio

Hello Hello Crafty Friends

How was your weekend? Mine was filled with crafty fun and amazing friends. I have been holding a set of workshops with 23 of my fellow demonstrators, where we have been creating a Techniques Binder with 60 techniques and samples.

I love gathering with my crafty friends - its the highlight of my month and totally worth the long commute times. I look forward to every month and will be sad when February's class is done as this is the last of six workshops.

I shared the splattered technique used in one of today's cards with the ladies at the workshop and they loved it.

Jaxx Crafty Creations, Stampin' Up!, Butterfly Gala, Butterfly Duet Punch, Botanical Butterfly DSP, Tea Together, Lovely Flowers Edgelits,

My set of cards today were inspired by the three coloured Blends you see at the bottom of the photo - Highland Heather, Smoky Slate and Soft Sea Foam and the little trick I shared with my fellow Stampin' sisters at the workshop - adding flicks of colour with markers.

The first card was inspired by Stampin' Up! Artisan Susan Wong. I just adore Susan's style and find it so hard to get that kind of card to work well for me. The card front has been completely screwed up with the edges torn and corners rolled and turned - I love how Susan rolls the edges for something different, I think it gives the cards a feeling of "loved" and cherished.

Supplies: Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, Smoky Slate, Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White & Black Card Stock, Botanical Butterfly DSP, Tea Together Stamp Set.

The next card has been silver heat embossed with the smaller of the two Butterfly images from the Butterfly Gala directly onto the dotty DSP. The black floral frame panel behind the striped DSP has been created with the Lovely Flowers Edgelit Dies. A few Soft Sea Foam die cut leaves have been added under the panel and the sentiment. To finish the card I added a punched Butterfly that was lightly coloured with Soft Sea Foam Blends.

The final card was inspired by an elaborate scrapbook layout I spotted on Pinterest. I just love the splatters which is odd as I am normally attracted to clean and simple cards with loads of white space and structural lines.

You possibly cant see it, but under all those splatters is the starting point of this cards creation - the Air Mail Background stamp.

Supplies: Butterfly Gala Stamp Set, Airmail Stamp Set, Botanical Butterfly DSP, Tea Together Stamp Set, Smoky Slate, Whisper White & Soft Sea Foam Card Stock, Highland Heather, Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends, Black Stampin' Write Marker, Foam Strips.

The splatters are achieved using a Black Stampin' Write Marker, taking the brush end and flicking it against the Marker lid.  The butterfly images from the Botanical Butterfly DSP,  have been fussy cut, lightly coloured using Highland Heather Stampin' Blends both dark and light. The stamped flowers are from the Tea Together stamp set. Each flower has a raised fussy cut inner that has been raised on the bottom with Foam Strips.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Until next time, stay crafty and stay awesome

Stampin'UP! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop - Forever Lovely

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the first Stampin' UP! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop for 2019.  Thank You so much for joining us. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. If you are following the Blog Hop, you may have arrived here having just visited super talented Emma Goddard in the U.K. How stunning were Emma's creations!!! Super gorgeous, as are all the projects the team have to share with you today, so be sure to follow the hop all the way through for loads of inspiring idea's.

I am beyond excited to be sharing this journey with you all and so honoured to be creating alongside 15 super talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know these ladies, they are all so supportive, encouraging and just the best human's to be sharing this experience with.

This month the Artisan Design Team are featuring the super adorable All My Love Suite. Seriously, this Suite is so extensive, with two coordinating stamp sets, two sets of matching framelits, DSP, ribbon and the cutest embellishments.

Those that follow my work will know I am not a huge DSP (Designer Series Paper) user, so I really challenged myself to break open the pack of 12 x 12 DSP and use it on every card. The All My Love DSP is absolutely divine, I actually struggled to put that first slice through the stunning floral papers, it felt like it really hurt lol Fear not, I did manage to save a few sheets for future projects.

The Forever Lovely Bundle is perfect for Valentine's Day. However, the stamp sets contain sentiments that can be used to express love and gratitude on any occasion. Like the framelits they are not Valentines specific. In fact, there are just as many floral elements as there are hearts.

As you can see, I did not have any trouble coming up with layouts using these stunning products. I actually had to stop myself or this post would be much longer than it is already.

The first card I would like to share with you today uses the stitched scalloped border die from the Be Mine Stitched Framelit Dies. I started by heat embossing the sentiment from Forever Lovely Stamp Set using Versamark and Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, on to a piece of Whisper White Card. I have then taken this piece and using the stitched scalloped border die, I have run it through the big shot on a diagonal. This piece has been lined with Gold Foil Card before adhering to the panel of DSP with Dimensionals. Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo layers were added before adhering to the Thick Whisper White Card base. To finish the card, I have added a fussy cut flower from the same piece of DSP (that is hidden under the white panel so you are not wasting any DSP).

The second card features the Be Mine Stitched Framelits and All My Love DSP. Starting with a Sahara Sand Card base, I have added a strip of DSP down the left hand side with Snail Adhesive. A Whisper White Card front has been stamped in Sahara Sand ink using the Distinktive heart stamp from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set.

Next, the multiple heart die from Be Mine Stitched Framelits has been cut from Sahara Sand Card and adhered to the card front with Snail Adhesive. Over this, a strip of DSP and Gold Foil Card has been added before the detailed heart die cut. The floral heart shape DSP has been used to fill the centre of the detailed heart die cut as with the two little stitched heart die cuts either side of the main die cut heart.

The third card is mainly DSP.  A full card front of the All My Love DSP has been added to a Thick Whisper White Card base. To this I have added a piece of Whisper White Card that has been embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. A panel of DSP has been lined with Black Card and added on a diagonal. Before adhering the Whisper White card front to the DSP Base, a layer of Black Card was added. The floral elements have been fussy cut from the All My Love DSP and the stamped sentiment from Forever Lovely Stamp set was also fussy cut before adhering to the floral cluster with mini dimensionals.

The fourth card again features the detailed heart die. One die cut has been made from Whisper White and backed with Lovely Lipstick Card Stock. The other has been cut from Sahara Sand Card Stock, backed with Whisper White and then threaded with White Bakers Twine around the edge of the die cut.

The Whisper White Card front has been stamped with the Disinktive Heart stamp in Sahara Sand ink. Next, three strips of DSP that have been backed with a panel of Lovely Lipstick Card Stock has been adhered with Snail Adhesive. Both Hearts and the Heat Embossed sentiment have been adhered to the card with dimensionals. A few Heart Epoxy Droplets were used to finish the card.

The fifth card is my Hubby's favourite, so guess which one he is getting on Feb 14th lol. Very quick and easy to replicate, all I have done is taken a Sahara Sand card front and die cut the large Heart Framelit. Dimensionals are used to prop the card front up from the card base which has been lined with a piece of DSP. Linen Thread has been wound around the card front and a die cut heart and fussy cut flower added to the top right with a little Linen Thread bow. The Heat Embossed sentiment has been tucked under the propped up card front and adhered with Tombow Multi Purpose Liquid Glue.

Taking a closer look...

I also made a couple of hanging ornaments, simply by die cutting three hearts and gluing the edges together.  These two were created from Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand Card Stock.

And just because...little cupids arrows :)

The arrows have been made with two bamboo kebab sticks. To one end, feathers were attached with a Glue Dot to secure them in place, while Gold Metallic thread was wound around the protruding feather ends. Two DSP die cut hearts have been adhered either side of the other end of the stick with Tombow. Use a peg or binder clip to keep them closed while the glue dries. Two little gold glitter hearts created with the multiple heart die have been adhered with mini dimensionals.
