Pretty Peacock In Colour

Hello Crafty Friends,

Just a quick post today to share a couple of cards made with one of my favourite 2019-2021 In Colour  - Pretty Peacock. I seriously am a huge Pink gal and you would think my new colour crush from this colour family would be the Rococo Rose. Don't get me wrong, I do adore Rococo Rose, even I am blown away at how much I am enjoying Pretty Peacock.

Both cards in today's collection use the colour quite heavily. For the first creation, I have taken a piece of Pretty Peacock card stock and embossed it using the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. The detailed cut frame is from the Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack. The stamped images from Beautiful Friendship have been fussy cut and adhered to the card front using a mixture of Multipurpose Glue, Dimensionals and Foam Strips.

The background for the second card has been created using the Rectangle Stitched Dies with Pretty Peacock In Colour DSP Pack. The floral images from Inspiring Iris have been stamped with Memento Tuxedo Ink and coloured using Stampin' Blends. They were then fussy cut and added to the die cut circle with mini dimensionals.

Both cards have white heat embossed sentiments on black card stock and Noble Peacock Rhinestones in Pretty Peacock.

How is your Christmas card creating coming along? I promised I would start the process earlier this year so guess who is working on her stash in August.....Me!! Can't wait to share some Christmas cuties and some traditional stuff - I know I know, even though I am not a fan, I am sure I am a rare specimen so I am challenging myself! Be sure to check back soon for Christmassy inspiration.

Until next time, stay awesome and stay crafty

Be Inspired August Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop for August.  You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. If you are following the hop, you may have arrived here having just visited Monica Gale. If you are just joining us, grab a comfy seat and be sure to hop all the way through for loads of amazing idea's and inspiring projects shared by the Be Inspired Design Team using this month's theme EMBOSSING.

I am a huge fan of embossing folders and adore how you can transform the look of an ordinary piece of card stock into something truly stunning that has texture, simply with one pass through my Big Shot machine. In saying that, I love heat embossing even more! I was hooked the very first time I heat embossed something and it still buzzes me out today.

Today's card uses both types of embossing, - dry and heat. Starting with a Thick Whisper White card base, to this another layer of Whisper White which has been embossed using the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. This is such a pretty and versatile Embossing Folder as sometimes I find patterns can be restricting. The cursive font is gorgeous and you can actually read the script!

Layers of Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana card stock have been adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The Shimmery White card front has been die cut using the Rectangle Stitched dies as were the Apple and Cabana layers.

Using the leaf image, I have white heat embossed the Shimmery card stock and then given it a light wash of Coastal Cabana ink using an Aqua Painter. The stamped images have been coloured using Stampin' Blends, fussy cut and then adhered around the die cut sentiment with mini dimensionals. A couple of Artisan Pearl Embellishments were adhered to the centre of the flowers to finish the card.

That's it from me, crafty friends. Thanks so much for stopping by today. The Be Inspired Design Team appreciate the time you have invested to visit our blogs today, Thank You. Up next in this months Be Inspired Blog Hop is super talented Cathy Caines.

Just Add Ink #467 - Sketch

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to this week's Just Add Ink Challenge - Just Add A Sketch.  I absolutely love sketch challenges!! I personally find them easiest and therefore the most enjoyable of all the types of card making challenges. You are free to use what ever colours and images tickle your fancy. I also find with less creative restrictions, I tend to use up more of my patterned papers which helps get those pretty papers off the shelf and onto cards.

I am such a symmetrical person and find I my eye is often drawn to right angles especially when they are off centre. The angled square in this sketch is so eye catching however when it came to creating my design the angle did not suit the scripty font that I used to emboss the square panel.

I love Polka Dots and Stripes especially in Black n White. And I especially adore when they are mixed with brightly stamped images. The dotty paper is from a retired Sale-a-Bration DSP Pack which I stocked up on during the promotion purely for the Polka Dot and Diagonal Striped sheets.

Using the images from Beautiful Friendship stamp set, I have stamped the flowers in Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight with the leaves inked in Granny Apple Green. These were fussy cut and adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

To finish the card a heat embossed sentiment from the Rare Blessings stamp set was adhered with Tombow along with a few Glitter Enamel Dots in Granny Apple Green.

That's all for today, crafty friends. Be sure to stop by all the Just Add Ink Design Team members blogs for more inspiration using this weeks Sketch Challenge.

We would love for you and your crafty friends to play along, if you have a blog you can add your creation to the Just Add Ink gallery here. Don't have your own blog? No problem! Just send us an email  to  just-add-ink@hotmail.com with a photo attachment. We will upload it to our challenge entry blog for you.
