Good Day Crafty Friends,
Hope you had a great weekend. We had some super stunning Spring weather in Perth, which saw the family get out and about down the beach and completing a few chores around the house, like cleaning the pool area, weeding the gardens and water blasting the cobbled driveway....and spiderwebs and fence and I love that thing lol. I would water blast everything if it wasn't so noisy!
With temperatures climbing above the mid 20's it was a reminder that Summer is just around the corner, as is Christmas! Today's card is another for my Christmas Card stash, the first of hopefully many fancy folds.
I LOVE shadow box cards. I love creating them and love seeing the recipients face when they receive them. They are super fun and easy to make, and because they are a little different, they are often put on display and therefore admired by many.
The tutorial for the Shadow Box card can be found at AddINKtive Designs here. This will give you the basic dimensionals and instructions on how to construct the Shadow Box card, the decoration is entirely up to you.
The So Santa stamp set with the Surfing Santa image is so dang cute, I cant stop using him lol. I thought he would look great teamed with a sponged background and some tropical foliage.
The sponged background was masked and created with Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove and Tempting Turquoise inks. The water image stamp from High tide stamp set has been inked with Coastal Cabana to create the water section, and the Waterfront stamp set has been used to create the Island and Palm Tree's in the background.
The Sahara Sand insert that holds Santa has been ripped along the top edge, sponged with Soft Suede ink and stamped with the sandy image from Magical Mermaid stamp set before adhering to the inside of the Shadow Box.
The Tropical Chic stamp set has been used to create the Frangipani and leaves along with the coordinating dies. These elements have been adhered to the outside of the Shadow Box with Tombow.
To finish the card, I added a little sign with the HO HO HO sentiment, linen twine and the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. I have a large panel on the back of the Shadow Box Card to write a lengthy message, and the other wonderful thing about these cards, is that it folds flat for posting, which is great when posting International.
Below is a list of the products I have used to create this card. Simply click on the product images to be taken to my Online Store - for Australian residents only.
