Hello Crafty Friends
Welcome to the Stampin' Up! 2019 Artisan Design Team Blog Hop for June. This month the super talented Artisans are showcasing the Come Sail Away Suite (item #152175). This nautical themed suite can be found on Pages 144, 145 and 146 of the new 2019 Annual Catalogue.
There are so many wonderful items that make up this stunning product suite: Sailing Home Stamp Set (item #149457), Smooth Sailing Dies (item #149576), High Seas 3D Embossing Folder (item #149577), Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (item #149481), Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack and embellishments - Bakers Twine (item #149483) and Sail Away Trinkets (item #149482). Everything coordinates beautifully, making it quick and easy to create amazing projects.
I have a few projects to share with you today, so grab a beverage, put your feet up and sail away with me into my ocean of craftyness.
First up is a slider card made with the super versatile Memories & More Cards. Traditionally designed for memory keeping and scrapbooking, the Memories and More cards also work brilliantly for card making.
The Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack has 50 double sided cards ( 2 each of 25 designs). There are two sizes - 3" x 4" and 4" x 6" and six of the larger sized cards have laser cut designs which make fabulous backgrounds or stencils.
You can find tutorials for slider cards all over the internet. I used a tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers and amended the measurements to fit one of the large Memories & More Cards.
When you pull the tab, the yacht slides across the card while another Memories & More card is revealed. I picked a card that enabled me to use the cool little dial die cuts on the compass.
The slider portion of the card has been attached to a basic tent fold card base so that it can stand/be displayed and also provides another surface to decorate and space to write a message.
Another card, some sticker embellishments and a wheel trinket made for fast decorating the inside of the card.
The next project I have to share with you today is one of my favourite fancy folds as the base is quick and easy to create, it folds nicely for posting and works well with stamped scenes. The Shadow Box card is an easy fun fold which again you can find tutorials for on Pinterest/You Tube.
The Inside back panel is a piece of shimmery white card, sponged with Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove over a masked circle which was later removed to reveal the sun. Memento Ink was used to stamp along the horizon line using the images from Waterfront stamp set. Then, I restamped each image in Versamark and clear heat embossed so the images were clear, glossy and slightly raised with the texture from heat embossing. This piece was then cut into three panels to fit the back and sides of the Shadow Box card base. The waves were sponged with Coastal Cabana and stamped with the water image from Waterfront stamp set. To create waves, simply cut the Coastal Cabana sponged panel in a curvy pattern.
The two yachts and lighthouse were stamped then clear heat embossed. Stamping Blends were used to colour the images before before die cutting (a little bit of trimming with snips afterwards) and then adhered to the box card using Multi Purpose glue and mini dimensionals. To finish the card, four "rope" die cuts were adhered to the exterior along with a sentiment from the Memories and More card pack.
The final project I have to share is a little memento that looks wonderful as is (a necklace) or as an embellishment for a scrapbook page. The cabochon pieces can be purchased on eBay. Take the glass insert and trace around your chosen paper - I have used one of the smaller Memories & More cards. To this I have added a yacht sticker embellishment and then applied the required jewellery adhesive.
The Mini Pizza Boxes (item #144645) are perfect for gifting jewellery and this one was super simple to decorate with a few elements from the Come Sail Away Memories & More Cards.
Inside the box: a panel of card stock strips in blue tones with notches cut at the top for the necklace to fit snugly and then decorated with more elements from the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack.
That is all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by, the Artisan Design Team appreciate the time you have invested to visit our Blogs. Be sure to follow the hop all the way through for loads of inspiring ideas and creations using the Come Sail Away Suite.
