Just Add Ink #436 - Sketch - So Santa

Good Day Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a great week. Mine has been a busy, jammed packed week. I feel like I haven't created anything papercrafty for months!! My craft space is slowly returning to normal, having lost 80% of my surfaces to curing soaps. The soaps have their own rack now and all my crafting surfaces are ready for my first box of Artisan goodies :)

Speaking of Stampin' Up! Artisans, I am so happy and excited to be sharing my year with two other members of the Just Add Ink team - Narelle Farrugia and Rochelle Blok - Congratulations, Ladies!!! It seems JAI is a creative hub and home for Stampin' Up! Artisans lol. Hope to see many more talented JAI Design Teams members be selected for this amazing opportunity.

This weeks Just Add Ink Challenge we have a fun sketch to inspire your creative juices. I love the simple layout and how the JAI DT members have all interpreted it differently.

My card uses a Christmas stamp set called So Santa. I just love the surfing santa and wanted to create a birthday card for a surfing friend, whose birthday is a few days after Christmas.

I started with a Whisper White card base, to which I added a layer of Granny Apple Green card before adhering the stamped Music Sheet card front. 

A few extended die cut pieces in Black and Granny Apple Green were tilted before adhering with Tombow.

The Santa image has been coloured with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut before adhering to the whisper white circle with mini dimensionals.

A few detailed die cuts made using the Petal Palette Thinlits have been added under the circle and under Santa's feet.

I also decorated one of the Bakers Boxes in the same colour combination - adding Silver Edged ribbon, silver bells and a sprig of faux pine.

The Bakers Boxes are just the sweetest and perfect for gifting small items, edibles and of course bars of soap!! I have snapped up a few packets for future use. My daughter recently made giant cookies for her University lecturers that were gifted using these boxes.

This facial soap bar has been handmade with love (by me) using the cold process method and has been curing for 4 weeks. It contains Shea Butter, White Australian Clay, Activated Charcoal and has a Coconut Cream scent. 

I am so in love with the marble effect in the facial soap bar, it would look wonderful with the Marble Background stamp - which I don't own (dang it!!!)

Just Add Ink #426 - Sketch - So Santa Christmas Cards

Welcome to this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge #426. Kim has chosen a fun sketch for us to get creative and play along with.

With the new HOLIDAY Catalogue filled with lots of Christmas crafts, now is the perfect time for me to start adding to my Christmas card stash. Alongside this, I am madly making Christmas Cards and Tags as gifts for family and friends. 

Coming from a beachside town in New Zealand, this Surfing Santa from the So Santa stamp set is perfect for this years Christmas cards to send back home. 

I have used the same three components for each card, just changing the colours of cardstock and Stampin' Blends used:

The first card uses Gorgeous Grape DSP teamed with Coastal Cabana.

The second card combines Flirty Flamingo DSP with Lovely Lipstick

And the third card has Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight DSP.

So Santa - Surfing

Hello Crafty Friends, 

Hope you are having a great day. Mine was spent de-cluttering a wardrobe in the spare room that stores all my Christmas Decorations.....hope yours was more eventful than mine. It was productive and I did manage to dig out a few things to donate to the local charity shop.

Speaking of Christmas.....I know I know, its far too early to be thinking about Christmas, but is it really? Its my favourite time of the year so its never too early for me lol.

Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalogue has the coolest Stamp set, perfect for Kiwi's and Aussie's or any other family or friends who enjoy the festive season during summer months.

I just looooove the Santa image with his surfboard and pineapple cocktail. The sentiments are just so fitting for sending out those summery Christmas wishes. You can find the So Santa Stamp set in my online store here.

I kept today's card fairly simple and therefore easy to recreate. I started with a piece of shimmery white card stock and sponged it with Coastal Cabana and Pineapple Punch inks.

On whisper white card i stamped the main image and again four times concentrating on inking up just the surfboard so that i had four extra images.

The stamped images have been coloured using Stampin' Blends - Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party. Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green. Then the main image and extra surfboard were fussy cut and adhered with mini dimensionals.

To finish the card, I have stamped the sentiment and then adhered to a whisper white card base with Tombow.  Viola its done.

So Santa - Summer Christmas

Hope you are having a great day. I have another fun summery themed Christmas card to share with you today. I am loving this fun in the sun Santa image from the So Santa Stamp Set (Holiday Catalogue Page 23 #147821).

Santa has been coloured using Stampin' Blends and then fussy cut. Using a couple of different square shaped framelits, I created a frame from whisper white card and backed it with a piece of shimmery white card that has been sponged using Pineapple Punch & Coastal Cabana inks. The sentiment was stamped onto the frame with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Santa has been adhered to the frame using mini dimensionals.

The whisper white card base has been die cut with the criss cross stitched thinlit. Over this a panel of Coastal Cabana DSP from the 6"x 6" Brights DSP Pack.

To finish the card and give it a tropically summery tone, I added the flower from Tropical Chic and the little tag stamped with 'enjoy', die cut using the small framelit in the Stitched Labels Framelits.

To add a little texture to Santa's beard I have added white gel pen in hairlike strokes. The inside of the card has a line of starfish.

The So Santa stamp set is a little beauty for those of us who experience Christmas during the summer months. The sentiments alone are uber cuties!!
