Just Add Ink #449 - Add Colour

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to this week's Just Add Ink challenge. Jo has chosen a stunning colour combination for this week's theme - Lovely Lipstick, Gorgeous Grape and Bermuda Bay. 

I am a fan of all three colours individually but when it came to combining them I really struggled. My Lovely Lipstick ink pad was way too juicy for the stamps I originally chose to use for this challenge. After many binned attempts I decided to go with something completely different - lots of white space with dabs of colour.

I had some embossing paste left over from my recent Technique's workshop, and before it dried up on me like my last lot, I decided to emboss a heap of Whisper White card fronts. 

I have used the large Doily die cut from the Dear Doily Bundle to create a stencil for this card, spreading plain white embossing paste over the inner portion of the die cut. Once dry, I chopped the card front down and slipped in some striped Bermuda Bay DSP - lined with a strip of Gorgeous Grape before adhering to the card base.

A stitched die cut circle has been attached with foam strips over the embossing paste and then the floral cluster image from Climbing Roses and heat embossed sentiment added to the raised circle die cut with Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive.

While I had things out on my desk, I grabbed another embossed card front and added the pieces that didn't make it onto the first card. The brick wall stencil was used to create this card front, to which, strips of Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape DSP have been added. I just adore these paper packs and really need to get more in case they don't make the next Annual Catalogue.

A few Gorgeous Grape Glitter Enamel Dots have been added to finish off the card. I am on a Birthday Card making mission this year, so have stamped the inside with a Birthday sentiment making this card 88/200. I am close to my target of 100 before June. I just need to be sure to send some before I donate them all lol.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - Holiday Catalogue Favourites

Welcome to the last Stamping Sunday Blog Hop for 2018. This month we are featuring our favourite item from the Holiday Catalogue. I have chosen the very summery and non traditional So Santa Stamp Set as these kind of images are ever so popular in the South Pacific, with Christmas falling in the middle of our Summer. 

Our local fire brigade volunteers a fire truck so Santa and his helpers visit every house on Christmas morning, with his shorts and thongs, bellowing Merry Christmas as he throws lollies to all the neighbourhood kids. Local surfers will sport a Santa Hat on Christmas Day if there are waves to ride, in fact its not unusual to see a sea of red hats down any beach in Australia on Chrissy Day. 

I decided to use that cute little surfing Santa to create a bauble for our Christmas Tree along with four cards in four different colours.

The dome has a screw bottom so all I had to do was stamp, colour and fussy cut the Santa image with a little tab on the bottom so I could adhere him to the plastic dome with a few glue dots. The Palm  tree was made with the Tropical Chic Thinlits and some Wood texture DSP.  Some beautiful white Singleton Beach sand has been added to the bottom before screwing together.

All four cards are exactly the same design, I have just changed the colours of DSP and inks used. The sponged background has been completed using Shimmery White card and then adhered to the back of a "photo frame". The Photo Frame is easy to make, just cut a square from the top portion of a rectangular die cut. 

The card front has been die cut with the "x" border from the Stitched Labels Framelits in a zig zag pattern. This was then adhered to the whisper white card base. A layer of craft foam has been added to the back of the "photo frame" as these are being posted, the craft foam prevents any squishing or dents.

The frangipani flower from Tropical Chic was stamped in Pineapple Punch for all four cards, with the leaves of each card changing to coordinate with the DSP and coloured sponging.

The four colours used for the set of cards are Flirty Flamingo, Grapefruit Grove, Blueberry Bushel and Highland Heather.

Sincerely Santa Kit meets Santa's Workshop M&M Cards

Hope you are having a fabulous day. Its been an absolutely stunning day here and I can feel that the start of summer is just around the corner. It is actually a great time to be out and about in the Perth region, the days have warmed, but not too hot for leisurely walks with the fur babies and the spring flowers are still in bloom, which is a bonus. There has been a little bit of rain recently too, so there is lots of water in the parks ponds which the local wildlife are loving.

Today's card is a mixture of Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack, DSP and some items from the Sincerely Project Santa Kit. This is the cutest Gift Tag Kit that comes in the sweetest Green and White Candy striped tin. The Sincerely Santa Project Kit makes 30 Gift Tags and for $38 AUD its great value and easy to complete. It also has a coordinating stamp set (see page 32 of the Holiday Catalogue)

I started with a Whisper White card base to which I added a panel of Coastal Cabana DSP. This dotty DSP is part of the Brights 6x6 DSP Pack. A layer of Real Red card stock was added and next another layer of Whisper White with a faint Coastal Cabana Watercolour wash. A strip of the Coastal Cabana DSP has been adhered with Tombow before adding the Red/White Candy Striped Tag from the Sincerely Santa Project Kit.

Also from the Sincerely Santa Project Kit - the Gold detailed edge Circle die cut, gold foil banner and Doily (which I have coloured Pink with a Stampin' Blend). The Elf image has been fussy cut from a Santa's Workshop Memories & More card. The Santa Seal and Holly are both stickers from the same M&M Card Pack.

The White Bakers Twine comes in the Sincerely Santa Project Kit. I tell you, that Kit is full of goodies - I especially adore the little silver bells and wish there were enough for all the Gift Tags in the Project Kit.

So Santa - Baking Santa

Hope you are having a great day. I have a quick post sharing another Christmas card made with the ever cute So Santa stamp set. This time I have decided to ink up the Baking Santa image.

I have created a Folder Card - the side folded card sits inside the little folder. Lovely Lipstick card stock has been used for the Folder with Whisper White for the card base.

Granny Apple Smith Brights DSP in the dotty pattern has been added to both the Folder and card fronts along with some Lovely Lipstick ribbon.

The image has been stamped and coloured using Stampin' Blends. The sentiment was then stamped above the image and die cut.  This panel has been adhered to the DSP with dimensionals.

To finish the card a strip of DSP has been adhered to the inside of the card and a few 'Baking' utensil die cuts added to the ribbon.

Santa's Workshop - Signs of Santa - Brights DSP

Hope you are having a great week. I have a quick post to share today a couple more cards created with the Santa's Workshop stamp set, which is available now from the new HOLIDAY catalogue - Page 19 item #147690.

Both cards also use small strips of the 6"x 6" Brights DSP Pack - Annual Catalogue, Page 191 item number #146964.

To compliment the strips of Gorgeous Grape DSP, I have sponged a little ink on the centre of the whisper white card front. I have also stamped it with a couple of snowflakes in smoky slate ink.

The Santa and elves were stamped and coloured using Stampin' Blends in Highland Heather and Bermuda Bay, fussy cut and adhered with mini dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Blended Seasons Stamp set.

The second card uses strips of the dotty side of a piece of Melon Mambo DSP. It also has a whole pose of elves! The elves have been stamped, masked and coloured directly onto the whipser white card front. The Merry Christmas from Blended Seasons stamp set has been used with the smaller sentiment from the Signs of Santa stamp set.

With the new HOLIDAY Catalogue filled with lots of Christmas crafts, now is the perfect time for me to start adding to my Christmas card stash. Alongside this, I am madly making Christmas Cards and Tags as gifts for family and friends. 

Coming from a beachside town in New Zealand, this Surfing Santa from the So Santa stamp set is perfect for this years Christmas cards to send back home. 

I have used the same three components for each card, just changing the colours of cardstock and Stampin' Blends used:

ESAD Colour Your Season Blog Hop

Welcome to the ESAD Colour Your Season Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia.

I am excited to be hopping with the talented ESAD crew today, as we show the amazing verstaility of this fabulous bundle. I love this bundle soooo much, the stitched framelits have to be my all time favourite and I can see them living in my craftroom forever!

I have made quite a few floral themed cards using this bundle and decided it was time to create some Christmas Cards with the cute Holly image.

I love NON TRADITIONAL Christmas colours - I prefer bright, vivid colours over the traditional Red, Gold and Greens. My Christmas Decorations colours are close to Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist and Tempting Turquoise with Flamingos and Palm Trees.

For this Hop, I decided to challenge myself and create a few cards using Reds and Greens. The first card has a teeny weeny strip of Red LOL The Holly images have been Gold Heat Embossed, Water Coloured and Fussy Cut.

The next card has LOADS of Red! Some Real Red DSP has been used to fill in the negative space left from the Stitched Framelits. Again, the Holly image has been Gold Heat embossed, water coloured and fussy cut. The sentiment was also heat embossed and fussy cut.

The third card uses the same layout as the first card. This time Granny Apple Green Spotted DSP has been used with a small strip of Real Red Striped DSP. Gold Metallic thread and a gold foil snowflake have been tucked under the Holly image, along with a few vellum die cuts.

The fourth card is my favourite. I love Granny Apple Green and it looks wonderful with Gold accents. The die cut frame has been raised with foam strips with the Holly images and strips of DSP/Card adhered directly to the bottom of the die cut frame. To finish the card, a Gold Heat embossed sentiment and two gold glitter snowflakes were added.
