Good Day Crafty Friends,
Hope you are having a great day. Its another gloriously sunny morning, here, in my neck of the woods.
My craft studio is located on a mezzanine level in our house, I am lucky to have an entire second level which overlooks the lounge and dining areas downstairs, and also has windows at both ends of my long room. We use this area in winter as our second lounge when its chilly, as its a smaller area to heat.
Not only do I have the luxury of space, I have a huge "bar" counter - yes, the previous owners built a bar upstairs, which I utilise as my major creating space. In addition, I have two desk spaces both with computers, a couch and armchairs, a television, the dogs beds and toy box, my little photo booth and all my crafty items.
I can see small glimpses of the Ocean from one window and from the other window, the Sand Dune Hills that block my little community from the major roads. Our foreshore and streets are lined with Pine Trees. Directly out my window I have a very tall Pine Tree and an Olive Tree, both of which I can see into. The Olive Tree is home to nesting birds all year round. When deciding what to create for this months AddINKtive Designs project, I happen to be looking at the Olive Tree. This reminded me of the fun and extremely cute stamp set - Flying Home.
Todays card uses the Flying Home stamp set and a tutorial by Bronwyn Eastley at AddINKtive Designs. Every month I will be sharing a creation using one of Bronwyn's fabulous tutorials. Spoilt for choice, I have decided to use the Shadow Box Card Tutorial. So much wow factor and the card folds flat for posting! Double Bonus.
You can purchase this tutorial from Bronwyn's tutorial shop, here. There are loads of tutorials to choose from, so be sure to check them all out - for less than a cup of coffee, all the hard work has been done for you.
I have used Bronwyn's tutorial with the following stamp sets: Flying Home for the images, Number of Years for the sentiment banner and Petal Palette for the Best Wishes sentiment. All images have been stamped in Black Momento ink and coloured using Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.
I absolutely adore this card style. The base is simple and fast to construct and uses only one sheet of A4 card. While I was decorating my card I had so many more idea's for future cards using this impressive and fun fold. Just need more time the day!!!!
I have created a few versions of this wonderful Shadow Box Card and cannot wait to share them all. You can view/purchase Bronwyn's amazing tutorials at AddINKtive Designs here.
There are various 3D and fancy folds cards to choose from. All use Stampin' Up items and for a few dollars you will receive a PDF to complete your project at your own leisure. All projects come with detailed measurements and easy to follow step by step instructions with photographs.
Thank You for stopping by today, until next time, stay crafty,
This card inspired me to choose that gorgeous stamp set as a Host gift. Beautiful colouring.
