AddINKtive Designs August Projects - Pocket Cards

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to this months AddINKtive Design Team Projects. As a Design Team member, I have the privilege of using any of the wonderful tutorials that are available to purchase from the AddINKtive Designs Store - including my own lol. I am still totally addicted to Pocket Cards and decided I would create two for August. The tutorial for this style of card can be found here.

The first card is an adaption of the Pocket Card Tutorial available in the AddINKtive Designs Shop. It uses the same base template with the Envelope Punch Board but instead of a pull tab insert, I have included a tri-fold card and adhered to the base. There were even more panels to decorate with this version of the Pocket Card plus the exterior envelope.

I kept the envelope exterior fairly simply, decorating the top flap with some Tropical Chic DSP and a Gold Foil die cut created with the Colour Your Season Framelits. Some ribbon, a bow and gold sequin trim were used to close the card, finished off with a gold heat embossed sentiment attached with gold metallic thread. 

The inside panels have a subtle colour palette inspired by the pastel tones in the Tropical Chic DSP. Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight and Soft Sea Foam were used to colour and stamp the images with hints of gold foil strips on the top two panels. The bottom panel has a layer of Blushing Bride card embossed with the "Tufted" Embossing Folder along with the panel that holds the heat embossed sentiment. I love this greeting from the Postcard Pals stamp set, and really wanted it to be the focal point when the recipient opened the card, so I cut it up and adhered the four lines with spaces in between each line of the birthday sentiment.

The second Pocket Card marks the first of my Christmas Card stash. We celebrate the festive season in the Summer months here in Australia so I am instantly drawn to the Christmas stamp sets that have fun, summery themed images. The So Santa stamp set is one of the sets I had to have from the new Holiday Catalogue. 

The Surfin' Santa is my favourite image of the three, and so fitting for friends and family back in NZ. I grew up in a small sea side town where almost everyone spends time at the beach during the Christmas - New Years holidays. We had Surfing Santa's! They would hand out tubes of Sun Block and create havoc up and down the beach with swarming kids attracted to the Lollie Scrambles.

How cool is his Pineapple Cocktail! Love his Poinsettia/Holly print boardshorts - too cute! The Tropical Chic DSP was perfect for the card I wanted to create - something not too floral or girly, more on the masculine side of tropical and with a hint of Christmas. 

The Pocket has been created using Granny Apple Green card teamed with Black, Whisper White and a little Coastal Cabana. The Tropical Chic bundle was used to create the Black card foliage.

There are so many awesome sentiments in the So Santa stamp set, I used one of my favourites for the Pocket Insert "Wishing you a season of warm memories and sunny smiles".

OSAT Blog Hop - Creature Comforts

Hope you are having a great week. Welcome to this months One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. I have chosen to make a few cards using the Postcard Pals stamp set. I flippin' adore the Otter with his envelope and mail box. The first card also use some of the Tropical Escape DSP, which is part of this months Stampin' Up! DSP Promotion.

The second card uses panels of colour from the revamped Subtles family - So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink and Pool Party. The Stitched Labels Framelits were used to create the Silver Foil Frame and Hearts. The sentiment has been white heat embossed on Black card and then cut up before mounting to the card front with mini dimensionals.

The third card also has the cute Otter. (I didn't plan to just use this image from the stamp set, I do love the Platypus and Pelican images too) I have also used the Pick a Pennant stamp set to stamp the Happy Birthday Banner on the card front. A few glitter clouds created using the Up and Away Thinlits were added to finish the card.

I very nearly ran out of time to create something other than a card for this blog hop, long story short, month long visit from MIL has put my schedule out of whack. However, I managed to quickly whip up a couple of framed projects of my beloved pooches paw prints that I thought would suffice.

Not the best imprints as they have their winter coats on at the moment and I think fur got in the way. I have simply patted their paws into my Versamark ink pad and White Heat Embossed the images onto Early Espresso card.

To create my fur babies framed paw prints, I have used the new Stitched Seasons Framelits to die cut the embossed image and also the surrounding frame from Gold Foil Card. These dies have a coordinating stamp set - Blended Seasons, and will be available for a limited time from 1-31 August 2018 so if you adore these stitched framelits make sure you order them during the limited purchasing period.

The Stitched Labels framelits were used to frame the names, which have also been white heat embossed onto Early Espresso card.

The elements were added to a Whisper White embossed card front, created with the Pinewood Planks Folder. Before adding to the frames, the fronts have been layered onto a piece of Gold Foil card. These framed paw prints will look perfect next to the sepia photographs we are having framed of our precious fur babies.

Colour INKspiration #37 Brights

Welcome to this weeks Colour INKspiration challenge. If you are following the hop, you may have arrived here having just visited my amazingly talented friend, Denita Wright-Smee.

Stampin' Up! ® has just had a major colour revamp so to start off the new catalogue year at Colour INKspiration we've decided to feature a Colour Collection for the first challenge each month (2nd Wednesday) until we have showcased them all! The second challenge in the month (4th Wednesday) will be a Pinterest inspired pic as per usual just to mix it up a bit. This month we are playing with the brights COLLECTION and you can choose any 3 colours from that range for your challenge project. We are also changing the rules about what else you can add to the mix; essentially just the Basics - Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black as well as metallics.

I made three cards using the Postcard Pals stamp set. All use the same design layout, I have simply changed the colours and stamped image for a different look.

The first uses the Platypus image teamed with Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Coastal Cabana.

The second card has the ever so cute Otter with his happy mail. This card uses Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and Powder Pink.

The final card uses Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo with the Pelican image.

Panels of the Brights DSP has been used in all cards along with; Stitched labels framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits. The little Silver Foil die cut hearts are adhered to the Bakers Twine with Tombow.
