Chase Your Dreams & Foliage Frames

Good Day Crafty Friends,

While I had the supplies out on the desk from yesterdays crafting session I decided to whip another card using the Floral Frames Bundle.

The large frame has been die cut from Whisper White card and then die cut again using the large dreamcatcher die from the Chase Your Dreams Framelits.

I then added the Blushing Bride dreamcatcher over the top along with some heat embossed flowers that have been water coloured using a light shade of Flirty Flamingo.  The Sahara Sand card front was white heat embossed with the sentiment before adhering to a Whisper White card base.

A panel of Tropical Escape DSP has been adhered over the Blushing Bride panel that has been embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.

To finish the card and ensure it wasn't too pink, I added a few Soft Sea Foam leaves.

Really.....I haven't shared the next card? Gosh, I am behind lol I made the next card what seems like months ago lol

The Dream Catchers were created by sponging some Shimmery White card with Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana inks and then die cutting. I also had enough left over to die cut the Dream from the same sponged card. This was then adhered to a black die cut and then adhered to vellum which has been fussy cut around. The large letter dies were used to create the BIG from Black card.

Oh My, this card is really adorable in real life and a fellow crafter has already received it in the mail.

The Shimmery White card was lightly washed with Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana and then embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. The sentiment from Stitched All Around has been white heat embossed on vellum and cut down to fit under the frame.

The large frame image from Foliage has been coloured using Stampin' Blends and then fussy cut.

Another using the uber vivid colour combination of Highland Heather and Coastal Cabana. The large floral frame has been stamped in Black ink and then clear heat embossed. I have then used Water Colour pencils to colour the image. A few silver foil leaves and heart were added along with a white heat embossed sentiment.

And the last card I have to share today has had the floral images white heat embossed onto the Highland Heather card front and then coloured using Water Colour pencils and a blender pen.

Until next time, stay awesome, stay organised and stay crafty

JULY AddINKtive Design Team Projects

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to this months AddINKtive Design Team Projects. As a Design Team member, I have the priviledge of using any of the wonderful tutorials that are available to purchase from the AddINKtive Designs Store - including my own lol.

Our talented and supportive leader - Bronwyn Eastley created the most stunning camera card recently. I knew as soon as I saw it that this would make the perfect card for my sister, Michelle, who happens to be a qualified photographer.

You can find the tutorial for the Camera Box Card with slider here. I have omitted the Happy Birthday insert from the original design as this is being posted to New Zealand and thought it safer to have a fold out album attached to the back of the card.

The film negative strip is from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set but the tutorial offers alternative suggestions if you do not have this set in your collection.

The base of the Camera Card is easily constructed with the Tutorial instructions and an Envelope Punch Board. The exterior of the card is Black and Silver Foil cardstock with a few rhinestone embellishments mimicking buttons.

I masked each individual panel of the negative strip and stamped images from various stamp sets - High Tide, Mediterranean Moments, Water Front and Animal Outing. Some panels were sponged and stamped, other were stamped and coloured using Stampin' Blends.

The back of the card holds the fold out. I made it a fairly sizeable space to allow loads of room for writing messages from the whole family. The top portion of the fold out was partially die cut with the Stitched Season Framelits as I wanted some of the white card underneath to be showing.

I have decorated the fold out using the Tropical Chic stamp and coordinating dies along with a Gold Glitter "M".

The inside panels have been die cut using the "x" stitched thinlit from Stitched Labels - randomly cutting lines over all three panels.

The Birthday cake image from Cake Soiree has been Gold Heat Embossed and watercoloured in the same purple/pink tones as the front of the fold out. Gold Foil card has used for the cake stand and bow, with a white heat embossed sentiment for the sentiment. A couple of little stitched hearts were added to the bottom with mini dimensionals.

The second card uses my Pocket Card Tutorial for the base, which you can find here.

I have kept this one pretty simple using soft subtle colours and a water coloured front. The Subtle embossing folder has been used to create the background from Soft Sea Foam cardstock. The large image from Floral Frames stamp has been white heat embossed, water coloured and then die cut with the large Stitched frame from the limited edition Stitched Seasons Framelits.

The Chase Your Dream Thinlits were used to die cut the 'die catcher' circle and vellum feathers. The inside has a Soft Sea Foam die cut (created using the Stitched Season Framelits) along with the pull tab (created using the Circle Tab Punch) also from Soft Sea Foam with a Gold Foil stitched heart added to the tab.

That's all from me today folks. I am knee deep in the middle of a massive project and had better start cleaning up what is normally a perfectly clean craft room so that I am somewhat productive this afternoon (I cant work in mess) so until next time, stay awesome, stay organised and stay crafty.

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to Colour INKspiration #38. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. If you are following the hop you may have arrived here from Kiama, NSW, having just visited my super talented friend Denita Wright-Smee.

Stampin' Up! ® has just had a major colour revamp so to start off the new catalogue year at Colour INKspiration we've decided to feature a Colour Collection for the first challenge each month (2nd Wednesday) until we have showcased them all! The second challenge in the month (4th Wednesday) will be a Pinterest inspired pic as per usual just to mix it up a bit. This month we are playing with the brights COLLECTION and you can choose any 3 colours from that range for your challenge project. We are also changing the rules about what else you can add to the mix; essentially just the Basics - Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black as well as metallics.

We have an absolutely gorgeous colour combination for this fortnights challenge - Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Gray Granite, Black and Whisper White.

No automatic alt text available.

My card is basically made up of a lot of white space with hints of colour and a few die cuts. I have used the Chase Your Dreams Framelits, Tropical Thinlits and Foliage Frame Framelits to die cut Black, White, Powder Pink, Gray Granite and Berry Burst card stock.

No automatic alt text available.

The Whisper White card front has been splattered with black ink and then embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder. A die cut dream catcher and square stitched frame were adhered to the base with dabs of Tombow before adhering the foliage die cuts. A Baker Twine Bow has been added over the Stitched Heart with a glue dot.

A stitched heart creating using the Stitched Labels Framelits, hides the ends of the die cuts and under this I also attached the swing tag sentiment.

The card front has a strip of Black card adhered along the left hand edge. A panel of Berry Burst card was tucked under the card front on an angle and adhered to the card base before adhering the card front.

OSAT Blog Hop - Creature Comforts

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Hope you are having a great week. Welcome to this months One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. If you are following the hop you may have arrived here having just visited talented, Jay Soriano in the UK. Be sure to follow the Blog Hop all the way through for amazing and inspiring creations using this months challenge theme - "Creature Comforts".

I have chosen to make a few cards using the Postcard Pals stamp set. I flippin' adore the Otter with his envelope and mail box. The first card also use some of the Tropical Escape DSP, which is part of this months Stampin' Up! DSP Promotion.

The second card uses panels of colour from the revamped Subtles family - So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink and Pool Party. The Stitched Labels Framelits were used to create the Silver Foil Frame and Hearts. The sentiment has been white heat embossed on Black card and then cut up before mounting to the card front with mini dimensionals.

The third card also has the cute Otter. (I didn't plan to just use this image from the stamp set, I do love the Platypus and Pelican images too) I have also used the Pick a Pennant stamp set to stamp the Happy Birthday Banner on the card front. A few glitter clouds created using the Up and Away Thinlits were added to finish the card.

I very nearly ran out of time to create something other than a card for this blog hop, long story short, month long visit from MIL has put my schedule out of whack. However, I managed to quickly whip up a couple of framed projects of my beloved pooches paw prints that I thought would suffice.

Not the best imprints as they have their winter coats on at the moment and I think fur got in the way. I have simply patted their paws into my Versamark ink pad and White Heat Embossed the images onto Early Espresso card.

To create my fur babies framed paw prints, I have used the new Stitched Seasons Framelits to die cut the embossed image and also the surrounding frame from Gold Foil Card. These dies have a coordinating stamp set - Blended Seasons, and will be available for a limited time from 1-31 August 2018 so if you adore these stitched framelits make sure you order them during the limited purchasing period.

The Stitched Labels framelits were used to frame the names, which have also been white heat embossed onto Early Espresso card.

The elements were added to a Whisper White embossed card front, created with the Pinewood Planks Folder. Before adding to the frames, the fronts have been layered onto a piece of Gold Foil card. These framed paw prints will look perfect next to the sepia photographs we are having framed of our precious fur babies.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, we appreciate the time you have invested to blog hop with us. A participant list has been added below. Up next with her awesome project is Kelly Acheson. Enjoy x

Until next time, stay awesome, stay organised and stay crafty

Sunday Stamping Blog Hop - Stitched All Around

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the July Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. This month the Design Team are showcasing the Stitched All Around. This is one of my favourite bundles from the Annual Catalogue as I absolutely adore stitched anything on cards.

No automatic alt text available.

I made a couple of projects for this months blog hop, the first set combines the Stitched All Around bundle with my second favourite bundle - Tropical Escape.

My daughter finished her first semester of her first year at University with some spectacular results, so Hubby and I decided to get her a little gift for her tea cup collection. I decided the Pocket Card needed to coordinate with the gift wrapping, so I have used the same colour scheme on both. The gift box was wrapped in Kraft card then decorated with the same die cuts and DSP used on the Pocket Card.

The colour combination has been inspired by the Tropical Escape DSP - Soft Sea Foam, Blushing Bride, Shaded Spruce with Gold Glitter and Berry Burst added for a bit of contrast.

The card front has been embossed with the criss crossed stitched die. All the decorative elements have been added to the belly band which include die cuts and the ombre sentiment from Stitched All Around.

The gift wrapped box has a gold glitter letter added to the front and the clustered elements switched from the bottom right to the left hand side.

My second project is a simple, quick and easy card and calendar combo using some of the In Colour DSP in Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove. I like to have a little CD case calendar on my desk and its fun to decorate a new one every month.

This months calendar page uses the large framed die from the Stitched Labels Framelits combined with the little dream catcher die created using the Chase Your Dreams Framelits. I have teamed some of the Grapefruit Grove DSP with Coastal Cabana.

The small stitched circle inside the dream catcher, the heart and little label die were all made using the Stitched All Around coordinating Framelits.

The Pineapple Punch card also uses an ombre sentiment from the Stitched All Around stamp set as well as the coordinating dies. In colour binder clips were added to both the card and calendar, they are so cute and the colours match the dotty DSP perfectly.

Be sure to follow the hop all the way through for some creative and inspiring ideas using the Stitched All Around Bundle. A participant list has been provided below, just in case you get lost any where on your journey.
