Just Add Ink #402 - Choose Two

Good Day Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time over at Just Add Ink, and this week we have a fun choice to play along with. Just Choose Two elements from: Stencil, Foil or Feathers. I love these types of challenges, as sometimes I don't have all the requirements for all challenges.

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2018/03/just-add-ink-402choose-two.html

For my card I used a Stencil I made with various circle Dies and punches.

To a whisper white card base I added a layer of Gold Foil Card. The whisper white front has been sponged with the stencil circle in Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo.

I have also added a few flicks of Archival Black ink with a paint brush before adding the sentiment stamped in Flirty Flamingo.

The flower from Remarkable You has been Gold Heat Embossed and water coloured using Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist. The image was fussy cut and adhered to card front with dimensionals.

To finish the card I added a few teeny tiny gold sequins.

Be sure to check out all the Design Teams creations here. We would love for you to play along, you can add your card using this weeks challenge here.

Colour INKspiration #30

Good Day Crafty Friends

Hope you are having a fantastic day. Welcome to the Colour INKspiration Blog Hop #30. You are visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia.  You may have arrived here from the super talented Elizabeth Goss. Be sure to hop all the way through for some amazing inspiration created using this fortnight's colour combination.

When I first saw this combination I was stumped, mainly because I don't use red or orange tones often. I put the challenge sheet away for a week and revisited it when I was feeling creative.

The following day I ended up making eight pocket cards, and decided to decorate one with the challenge colours for this fortnights challenge.

The card base, inserts and belly bands are all super easy components to create. The Envelope Punch Board allows me to whip these up in no time.

To decorate the Front, Pool Party Card has been die cut using the largest circle in the Layering Circle Framelits, and the largest rectangular

The small flower stamp in the Petal Palette stamp set has been inked Cherry Cobbler (stamped off) Pumpkin Pie (stamped off), Island Indigo and Fresh Fig (stamped off)

A strip of Black card was attached to the Belly Band and a smaller strip of Pool Party and Island Indigo. The bird image was inked Archival black and die cut.

To finish the card, I added a Pool Party tab to the card insert, made using the Circle Tab Punch.

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by hopping around to see what all of the Colour INKspiration Crew have to show you. Then you have 12 days from today to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don't have to have a blog to participate but if you do you can link back to your post. Make sure you use all of the challenge colours. You can also use neutrals such as white, black, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Metallics. Not a member of the Facebook group yet? Just click here and ask to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in the fun too. W.A SU Demo Retreat - Petal Palette

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Hope you are having a fantastic day. Welcome to the WA Demo Retreat Blog Hop 2018. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken.

No automatic alt text available.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to have been able to attend an awesome event hosted by fellow Design Team Members, Kelly Kent and Nicole Wilson.  These ladies put on a spectacular day full of crafting, laughing, prizes and meeting new friends.

I was joined by Thirty plus Stampin Up! Demonstrators from all over Western Australia. Such a lovely and talented group of ladies, some have been Demo's since SU arrived in Australia 10 years ago.

I cannot wait to see them all in a few weeks time at Onstage in Perth.

Each of us were required to create a card and provide 12 kits for that project so that on the day each of us would complete 12 different cards.

We had twenty minutes to create each make and take. The timeframe was such a fun aspect on the day.  Kelly and Nicole and their support team did such a fabulous job organising the whole event, we had tea, coffee, snacks and the ladies gave away so many prizes on the day!

Here is the card I designed for my Make & Take.

My card starts with a Whisper White Card Base. To this a layer of Gold Foil card was attached. Next, a panel of Whisper White was stamped with the foliage and dotty texture stamps, using Crumb Cake ink.

A strip of Wood Textures DSP was attached to the right hand side, with a gap between the Whisper White panel - allowing Gold Foil to show

The Petal Palette Floral Image was Heat Embossed in Gold and water coloured using Powder Pink and Sahara Sand.

The sentiment from Cake Soiree was also Gold Heat Embossed and adhered with mini dimensionals. The gold die cut accents tucked under the floral image were created using dies from Sweet Cake Framelits and Eclectic Layers Thinlits. To finish the card a few vellum leaves were added.

Now....on with the rest of the hop. Be sure you hop around to see all the great cards that were made on the day.  If you get lost you can get back on track with the participant list at the end of each post.

Next up in the Blog Hop is Marian Fleming. Enjoy!

Until next time, stay crafty

Magical Day Fairy Castle - AddINKtive Designs

Good Day Crafty Friends,

It’s time to share this month’s creation for the AddINKtive Designs Team. I am so excited about this fancy fold card as I absolutely adore it!  Bronwyn has been extremely busy creating loads of new tutorials, all fancy folds and some with multiple interactive components in the one card!
The PDF tutorials have detailed step by step instructions with clear photographs. All cards in the Tutorial Shop are designed using Stampin' Up! products and fold flat for posting. Check out all the amazingly detailed fun fancy folds over at AddINKtive Designs here.

http://addinktivedesigns.com/shop/

I chose to use Bronwyn’s Castle Bridge Fold Card Tutorial to create this Fairy Castle themed version. Any excuse to use those chubby unicorns!! lol You can find the tutorial I used to create this fun, fancy fold here.

To get the clouds and brick detail to really pop on such light coloured Card Stock, I sponged White Craft Ink onto the cloud and brick wall stencils and then applied White Embossing Powder and Heat Set.

I also added an extra tower in the middle of the fold. This was created using the smaller towers as a template and extending the shape.

I have used lots of White and Sweet Sugar Plum Glimmer Card Stock so the Castle sparkles and shines from all angles.

The Mermaids in the windows had their long locks chopped and then reattached closer to the window frame so that it looks like their hair is blowing out the window.

All images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Coloured using a mixture of the light coloured Stampin’ Blends.

I cannot wait to make a Dragon & Knight version of this amazing Fold.
Until next time, stay crafty

Just Add Ink #400 - Inspiration

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Happy Friday. Wahooooo......for Fridays!  I have been really looking forward to this weekend as I have a SU Demo Retreat Day on Sunday - cannot wait!

Being Friday means its time for a new challenge over at Just Add Ink. This week we have a gorgeous inspiration picture to tickle your creativity.

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2018/03/just-add-ink-400inspiration.html

For my card, I wanted to use the soft subtle pastel colours and the speckled detail in the inspiration photo.

The Sahara Sand card base has had a layer of Soft Sky added before adhering the card front. The background was stamped with the Airmail Background Stamp in Sahara Sand and then flicked with Early Espresso ink, using a paint brush.

The floral image from Petal Palette was stamped in Archival Black ink, coloured with Sahara Sand on the leaves, Soft Sky on the Flowers and then die cut and adhered with dimensionals.

I love the delicate die that comes in the Petal Palette bundle and couldn't resit adding a Soft Sky die cut under the Oval Stitched Shape.

To finish the card I added a neutral twine bow, Powder Pink sentiment and the fussy cut stamped leaf.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have created some wonderful cards using this weeks inspiration picture. You can check them out and enter your creation here.
Until next time, stay awesome
Thanks for stopping by, I do appreciate you and the time you take to visit.

Just Add Ink #399 - Add Water

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Happy Friday! Friday means its challenge time at Just Add Ink (insert smiley face) This week's challenge is "Just Add Water".

I instantly thought water colouring, as its my favourite way to colour.  Then,  I looked at my stamp sets and the Magical Mermaid spoke to me.

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2018/03/just-add-ink-399just-add-water.html

I really love this stamp set and haven't used it nearly as much as it justifies. For my card, I wanted to keep to a watery colour combination so grabbed a few blue toned ink pads - Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point.

I created a quick stencil using different sized circle punches and dies. On Whisper White Card Stock, the blue toned inks were randomly sponged through the stencil, resembling bubbles. I also sponged some circles onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Card Stock and die cut a Stitched Circle.

The Mermaid was coloured using all the Blue Tones from the Stampin' Blends range with a tad So Saffron for her hair. She was fussy cut and adhered to the stitched circle with dimensionals. A few clouds were sponged on the edges and added under her tail.

To finish the card, some Tempting Turquoise Bakers Twine was wrapped around the card front before adding the sentiment banner and a few Tempting Turquoise flowers with rhinestone centres.

The Just Add Ink Design Team have created some gorgeous cards to share using this weeks Just Add Water Challenge, be sure to check them out.

We would love you to play along with us, you can add your card to the gallery here.

Until next time, stay crafty

Just Add Ink #398 - Colour Challenge

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome, hope you are having a fabulous day. It's almost Friday - yipeeeeeeee!!! Friday's also means its time for a new Just Add Ink challenge.

This week we are playing along with a fabulous colour combination - Berry Burst, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.

https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2018/03/just-add-ink-398colour.html

For my card I chose to use the gorgeous Lots of Lavender Stamp set. I adore the floral bouquet and thought it would look extra lovely in Berry Burst.

The Whisper White card base has had splatters of Sahara Sand ink applied with an Aqua Painter. Neutral Twine was wrapped around the front and adhered behind with Tear & Tape. On scrap Shimmery White Card, I have inked the images in Archival Black and coloured the flowers using Berry Burst ink and an Aqua Painter.

Once the water coloured panels were completely dry they were fussy cut. The Sahara Sand foliage was created using the Cake Soiree Framelits, these were tucked behind the flowers and adhered with Tombow.

The sentiment from Petal Palette and banner from the Number of Years stamp sets  have been white heat embossed onto Berry Burst Card Stock and then fussy cut.

I added a few gold glimmer hearts made with the Owl Builder Punch. The card front has been added to a layer of Sahara Sand and then adhered to a Berry Burst Card Base.

We would love for you to play along with us. Create a card using this weeks challenge colours and add it to the gallery here.
