Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to Colour INKspiration Challenge #42. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. If you are following the Blog Hop you may have arrived here having visited super creative, Tanya Bell.

Stampin' Up! ® has just had a major colour revamp so to start off the new catalogue year at Colour INKspiration we've decided to feature a Colour Collection for the first challenge each month (2nd Wednesday) until we have showcased them all! The second challenge in the month (4th Wednesday) will be a Pinterest inspired pic as per usual just to mix it up a bit.

This challenge we are playing with a stunning Pinterest inspired pic which features this gorgeous colour combination: Mint Macaron, Black, White and Copper Foil.

I have created an Envelope Tri-Fold card using some of the Black and White patterned papers from the Tropical Escape DSP Pack.

The Envelope Card Base has been created from Mint Macaroon card stock using an Envelope Punch Board. The Whisper White Tri-Fold insert has been decorated Copper Foil and Mint Macaroon card stock along with stamped images created using the First Frost stamp set.

I would love to have put a few copper foil die cuts onto a few panels but I only had a few strips left and used them to line the first and second panels of Tropical Escape DSP.

All images and sentiments have been stamped in Black or Mint Macaron inks. The sentiment on the front of the closed envelope has been created using the Floral Frames stamp set and coordinating dies.

ESAD DSP Promotion Blog Hop

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Image may contain: text and indoor

Welcome to the ESAD Designer Series Paper Promotion Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. If you are following the hop you may have arrived here having visited Peta Stephen.

The Buy 3 Get 1 Free DSP Promotion is such a great way to increase your DSP stash.  The Annual Catalogue is full of stunning patterned papers and this promotion enables you to grab some of the DSP packs that may have been on your wish list.

I have a few cards to share using two of the selected packs in the DSP promotion -  Tropical Escape and Wood Textures. The first two cards are the same design - gift card holders. The actual card slips out of the folder and opens to reveal a space for a gift card.

Thick Whisper White card works best for the card folder base. Wood Textures DSP has been added to the card folder flap and then ribbon is used to secure the flap closed. The card front has had the same piece of DSP added so the lines in the wood grains matched the piece on the folded flap.

The embellished cluster has been created using a combination of stamps and framelits: cake soiree, tropical chic, foliage frames and stitched labels. I left the sentiment for the inside of the card.

The second card in this design uses a smaller panel of DSP from the Tropical Escape 6x6 DSP Pack. A strip of Black and White DSP has been added to the folded flap for this card. The ribbon used to secure the fold closed has had two sponged feathers added with bakers twine. The stamps and framelits used to create the cluster in the right hand corner are fairly much the same as the first card.

I have used Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist as I love the contrast with the Black and White DSP.

The next card uses the Wood Textures DSP to create a frame.  The new Stitched Season Framelits were used to create the detailed stitched frame. The Shimmery White Card has been sponged using a mask created with the negative die. The stamped floral image from the new Blended Seasons stamp set were coloured using Stampin' Blends and adhered over the frame with mini dimensionals.

This limited edition bundle is only available to customers during the month of August 2018. Make sure to order during this period to avoid disappointment of missing out.

My favourite DSP Pack that is part of this Buy 3 Get 1 Free Promotion is Tropical Escape. I love the tropical theme and the colours are right up my alley. Here is a few cards I created with only 12 of the 48 sheets that come in this pack of deliciousness.

I also mixed in a few pieces of the Wood Textures DSP along with the Tropical Escape DSP to create these ten cards. For more details on these sets of cards, you can check out the details in an earlier post here.

That's all from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate you and time you have invested to read my blog post.

Sunday Stamping Blog Hop - Stitched All Around

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the July Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. This month the Design Team are showcasing the Stitched All Around. This is one of my favourite bundles from the Annual Catalogue as I absolutely adore stitched anything on cards.

No automatic alt text available.

I made a couple of projects for this months blog hop, the first set combines the Stitched All Around bundle with my second favourite bundle - Tropical Escape.

My daughter finished her first semester of her first year at University with some spectacular results, so Hubby and I decided to get her a little gift for her tea cup collection. I decided the Pocket Card needed to coordinate with the gift wrapping, so I have used the same colour scheme on both. The gift box was wrapped in Kraft card then decorated with the same die cuts and DSP used on the Pocket Card.

The colour combination has been inspired by the Tropical Escape DSP - Soft Sea Foam, Blushing Bride, Shaded Spruce with Gold Glitter and Berry Burst added for a bit of contrast.

The card front has been embossed with the criss crossed stitched die. All the decorative elements have been added to the belly band which include die cuts and the ombre sentiment from Stitched All Around.

The gift wrapped box has a gold glitter letter added to the front and the clustered elements switched from the bottom right to the left hand side.

My second project is a simple, quick and easy card and calendar combo using some of the In Colour DSP in Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove. I like to have a little CD case calendar on my desk and its fun to decorate a new one every month.

This months calendar page uses the large framed die from the Stitched Labels Framelits combined with the little dream catcher die created using the Chase Your Dreams Framelits. I have teamed some of the Grapefruit Grove DSP with Coastal Cabana.

The small stitched circle inside the dream catcher, the heart and little label die were all made using the Stitched All Around coordinating Framelits.

The Pineapple Punch card also uses an ombre sentiment from the Stitched All Around stamp set as well as the coordinating dies. In colour binder clips were added to both the card and calendar, they are so cute and the colours match the dotty DSP perfectly.

Be sure to follow the hop all the way through for some creative and inspiring ideas using the Stitched All Around Bundle. A participant list has been provided below, just in case you get lost any where on your journey.

Just Add Ink #416 - Sketch - Floral Frames

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Hope you have had a great week. Its challenge time over at Just Add Ink and this week we have a fun sketch for you to play along with.

Image may contain: text

It maybe hard to spot the sketch in my card at first glance but if you follow the Lemon Lime Twist elements you will see the basic sketch elements are there.

I absolutely LOVE my stitched detailed dies and the Stitched Shapes Framelits have to be my favies and most frequently used. I have loads of squares die cut in many colours as when I am constructing my cards I always remove a die cut from the layer that will not be seen.

I love layered cards but it seems so wasteful to not utilise all of the card stock, especially those parts that are covered with other layers.

Utilising some of the stitched square die cuts in Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana, I have added a Black panel over the Tropical Escape DSP and then a thin strip of Lemon Lime Twist. The gold heat embossed die cut was created using the Floral Frames Bundle and was adhered using Tombow. A few stamped images from Tropical Chic and Cake Soiree stamp sets and die cuts made in Coastal Cabana and Gold Foil card were added, before completing the card with a little swing tag hanging from gold metallic thread.
