Colour INKspiration #53

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to Colour INKspiration Challenge #53 Blog Hop. We have the most delightful colour combination for you to play along with this fortnight - Petal Pink, Mint Macaron, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy. You can also add in some metallic s in the form of gold or silver. 

I have used four of the five challenge colours for my card - omitting Bermuda Bay.

Starting with some of the Petal Pink DSP from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP Pack. The lace detail in this DSP is so awesome, photo's really do it no justice whatsoever.

My card uses a combination of First Floral and Petal Palette stamp sets, along with the large die cut made with the Stitched labels Framelits.

To finish the card I added a few Artisan Pearls in Mint Macaron to tie in with the heat embossed sentiment on the Mint Macron card stock.

Sorry to keep this post so short and sweet, but as we go live with this Hop I am probably eating dinner with a few of the Colour Inkspiration Design Team in a restaurant in Auckland, New Zealand!!! How exciting is that!!! We are heading to the biannual Stampin' Up! event - Onstage Live. Keep an eye on the Design Team members social media accounts for up to date sharing from our three day event. We get to see and play with all the new goodies that are due to arrive with the release of the new Annual Catalogue. Colour INKspiration #46 - First Frost

Welcome to this fortnight’s Colour INKspiration Challenge #46. You are currently visiting Jackie Aitken in Western Australia. If you are following the Colour INKspiration Blog Hop, you may have arrived here having visited the super talented Nikki Spencer, with her stunning Christmas Card.

Stampin' Up! ® has just had a major colour revamp so to start off the new catalogue year at Colour INKspiration we've decided to feature a Colour Collection for the first challenge each month (2nd Wednesday) until we have showcased them all! The second challenge in the month (4th Wednesday) will be a Pinterest inspired pic as per usual just to mix it up a bit. 

Nicole has chosen the most stunning Pinterest inspired photo which features this delightful colour combination - Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue, Lovely Lipstick, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green.

Can you believe this is the first card I have created in many many weeks, which for me is a first - i normally create a card every other day. I feel as if I have been cheating on my love for all things papercraft as I learn the art of soap making. 

To crank the creative juices, I decided to start with my favourite stamp set - First Frost and my go to DSP, the striped Lovely Lipstick from the In Colour 6"x 6" Paper Pack.

I started by stamping the Whisper White card front with the Congratulations sentiment in Smoky Slate (I wish I had silver heat embossed the sentiments, having added the Silver Foil as last minute decisions, this is what happens when you design with no plan)

A strip of Silver Foil card has been added to the diagonally cut piece of DSP before adhering to the card front with Tombow. 

The floral images have been stamped using all five challenge colours and adhered to the circular die cuts with a mixture of Tombow and Mini Dimensionals.

The card front was then mounted to the Whisper White card base with a sheet of white fun foam as this one is being posted, and this prevents any squishing of layers by the not so careful Post system. To finish the card, a few rhinestones have been added to the floral cluster.

JAI #432 - Bows & Bling - First Frost

Welcome to this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge. Patrice has challenged us to choose two from Buttons, Bows or Bling. Say that ten times really fast lol.

I am on a little card creating vacation at the moment (while I learn a new hobby, more on that soon) But managed to whip up this little beauty from bits and pieces left over from previous projects.

Do you have a container full of stamped images and dies cuts that didn't make the cut on previous projects? Whenever I add a new stamp set to my collection  I like to stamp loads of images all at once so that when I am designing I don't have to stop what I am doing to get my fingers all inky. If the item I am playing around is not the right colour I will re stamp it at a later stage, but I find it handy to have die cuts when planning card designs.

I chose Bling and Bows as my two elements for this weeks challenge teamed with the images from the First Frost stamp set. 

The flowers were stamped in Highland Heather and Blushing Bride with the foliage in Sahara Sand and Pear Pizzazz. Before adhering the floral cluster to the torn whisper white card front, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo ink.

The Sahara Sand panel has been embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder then adhered to a Thick Whisper White Card Base.

Natural Linen Twine has been added behind the Floral cluster and a bow in the front. A few clear Rhinestones were added to finish the card.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop - First Frost Stamp Set

Welcome to October's Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month we are featuring the stunning First Frost Stamp Set. This was one of the first sets to hit my wish list when the Holiday Catalogue was released, I absolutely adore the water colour washed images.

For this months challenge I created a gift box and a couple of cards. All the cards have a whisper white card base. The Gift Box has a Blushing Bride base with a Whisper White Lid.

The Gift Box Lid has been stamped in Highland Heather, Soft Sea Foam, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo.

The first card has panels of Soft Sea Foam, Powder Pink and Tropical Escape DSP. The images from Floral Frames have been stamped with Memento Tuxedo onto Whisper White and die cut. These have been mixed with the images from the First Frost stamp set and sentiment from Painted Glass.

The second card has a card front that uses a similar floral display as the Gift Box, stamped in similar colours just more vividly by stamping the images a few times using my Stamparatus.

The centered panel has been raised using white fun foam and then adhered to the card base with Tombow. This allows a little bit of wiggle room, as I eyeball everything when it comes to placement, and I find things with height can be deceiving when trying to get them straight.

The third card is bright and colourful one. I have a whole pack of these gorgeous Coloured Doilies that I wanted to needed to stop hoarding and start using. The inspiration for this card was the Coastal Cabana Doily. I started by cutting one in half and adding bits and pieces until I was happy. A layer of Coastal Cabana card has been used to break up the white layers and coordinate with the doily.

The sentiment from Follow Your Dreams stamp set has been adhered with foam strips for lots of height. To finish the card, a few Grapefruit Grove Faceted Dots have been added.

The last card was fairly quick and simple and probably my favourite of the four. The card front is a piece of whisper white card ripped on an angle and stamped with the sentiment from Floral Frames. A piece of Sahara Sand card was embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder and adhered to the whisper white card base with Tombow.

The two flowers from First Frost stamp set were inked in Berry Burst and Melon Mambo. The rest of the images have been stamped in Soft Sea Foam and Memento Tuxedo inks. The floral elements were adhered to a banner created from Sahara Sand card with dimensionals. To finish the card some Linen Twine was added and a few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

The Gift Box is a fantastic size, this one holds a mini tea cup candle and its saucer with room for some choccies around the sides.

Just Add Ink #428 - Colour Combo

Hope you are having a fabulous day. Welcome to Just Add Ink Challenge #428. This week we have a super fun, bright and cheerful colour combination to play along with: Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist and Calypso Coral.

I have a stack of the Wood Textures DSP Pack left so thought I better start using some instead of admiring it from desk. I personally love it with any floral images and really wanted to give the First Frost stamp set a whirl in these colours.

I created a Folder Card - the Folder acts as an envelope/holder, the actual card slides out and is perfect for holding gift cards.

The floral images from First Frost have been inked in Pool Party and Calypso Coral with the leaves stamped in Lemon Lime Twist. To eliminate the bulk, no dimensionals have been used - just Tombow.

To finish the card, a few iridescent sequins have been added to the card front and some Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the Folder panel.

Colour INKspiration #42 - Blk, White, Mint & Copper Foil

This challenge we are playing with a stunning Pinterest inspired pic which features this gorgeous colour combination: Mint Macaron, Black, White and Copper Foil.

I have created an Envelope Tri-Fold card using some of the Black and White patterned papers from the Tropical Escape DSP Pack.

The Envelope Card Base has been created from Mint Macaroon card stock using an Envelope Punch Board. The Whisper White Tri-Fold insert has been decorated Copper Foil and Mint Macaroon card stock along with stamped images created using the First Frost stamp set.

I would love to have put a few copper foil die cuts onto a few panels but I only had a few strips left and used them to line the first and second panels of Tropical Escape DSP.

All images and sentiments have been stamped in Black or Mint Macaron inks. The sentiment on the front of the closed envelope has been created using the Floral Frames stamp set and coordinating dies.
