Joy of Sets #005 - Letter J

Hello Crafty Friends

Its challenge time over at Joy of Sets. For this fortnights challenge we are using the Letter J. Pull out a stamp set , current or retired, with the letter J in its Title and play along with us.

https://joyofsetschallenge.blogspot.com.au/2017/08/jos-005-letter-j.html

I chose to make a Piano themed card using the Jar of Love stamp set, minus the Jar. I love the flowers in the Jar of Love bundle, they are my go to for any small floral images that don't require colouring or fussy cutting.  Do you have musician friends? If so these cards are perfect. They are relatively easy to make and also a great way to showcase the new Music Script background stamp.

The Piano card uses the Floral images from Jar of Love and Tranquil Tulips. I wanted a pink toned Floral arrangement laying across the top of Piano. I also wanted my lid to open leaving the keys on what is the inside of the card.

This type of card is made using one full sheet of A4 card. I scored the long side at 10.5cm and the short side at 14.85cm. Then cut away one square or essentially what is one card front from a sheet of A4.

Next I folded it into place and cut a curved edged to the card front. This should open sideways to reveal the music sheet underneath. Then u lift the music sheet (tent fold) to reveal the card inner and keyboard.

The sentiments from Colourful Seasons were heat embossed in White on the front and stamped in Black Momento on the inside. The keys have been made using the Window Words punch (now retired)

The Guitar is very basic and easy to make.  Using Layering Circles to make the cuts in the card front and the border around the outside.

I have stamped the Music Sheet Background Stamp onto whisper white and adhered behind the cutout with tombow. The strings are metallic gold thread. The bottom bar was made using the retired window words punch. The sentiment from Pocketful of Sunshine was heat embossed in white on black card and adhered with dimensionals.

The Joy of Sets Design Team have created some inspirational cards, using retired and current stamp sets, why not pull out a stamp set with the letter J in its title and come play along with us.

Until next time, stay crafty & awesome

Just Add Ink #372 Colour Challenge

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Hope you are having a fabulous day. My afternoon was spent unpacking my pre-order goodies!! So exciting.  All the dies got placed on a  magnetic sheet and the stamp sets found a home (alphabetically) on the "current" shelf. They are all snug in their new forever home lol

Guess what.....It's challenge time over at Just Add Ink. Yipeeeee!  And, I am still a guest designer, the JAI DT have not booted me yet (insert squishy face) Anywho, enough gas bagging, this weeks challenge is a colour combination using Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink and Pool Party.

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2017/08/just-add-ink-372colour.html

Such a pretty combination don't you think? I instantly thought cottage gardens and flower bouquets. However, when I sat down at my desk I changed my mind, and decided to not go down the pretty Floral pathway, instead opting for something with lots of angles. This was the result

I really love these diamonds and wanted to make a few cards with the gorgeous die cuts as my focal point. The card front has been stamped with a splatter image from the sadly retired Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, in Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide, Pool Party and Black Momento inks.

The Eclectic Thinlits were used to cut the diamonds from gold foil card. The backs of the diamonds were cut from the 3 different challenge colours and adhered to the gold foil with tombow.

I used the sentiment from the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set, heat embossed in white on black card. I then backed the sentiment with gold foil card and adhered to card front with tombow.

The diamonds have been attached with dimensionals and a few gold sequins were added to finish it off. Quick, simple and easy to reproduce.

Why not join us and play along with the challenge over at Just Add Ink its such a gorgeous colour combination and its really easy to enter. Also, dont forget to stop by and check out all the amazing creations the talented Design Team have provided for inspiration.

Until next time, stay awesome

Sheet Music - Pocketful of Sunshine

Good Day Crafty Friends,

I love background stamps, I find they make easy and quick cards. Today's card uses the Sheet Music background stamp.

On Whisper White card I stamped the background stamp in Versamark and applied white embossing powder then heat to set.

Using sponges I applied, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise. I then cut the card front approx 4cm up from the bottom and trimmed out enough space for the sentiment.
The sentiment from Pocketful of Sunshine was stamped in Black Momento ink onto the Whisper White card front, with the coloured panels attached either side with dimensionals

The card on the left is from yesterdays blog post. Click here to view yesterday's blog post.

I cant wait to use this background stamp with my Christmas Cards this year. Until next time, stay awesome,

Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp Set - Prize Patrol

Hello

Today I am sharing a card I made with a new stamp set that I won at the SU Onstage in Perth. The stamp set is called Pocketful of Sunshine and it also has matching Framelits! I don't have the Framelits yet so cut the pocket freehand.

I was so excited to win this set when my prize patrol colour came up! Think I may have danced and jumped a little wee bit too much but just couldn't help myself!

I have used the cute little pocket stamp. The set comes with a few accessories to pop in the pocket.

I stamped the pocket and the curved stitching detail in Smoky Slate onto Pink Pirouette card stock. I also cut two little strips of the Pink Pirouette for the belt loops and used Whisper White ribbon with jewels for the belt.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Lift Me Up stamp set and has been stamped in Archival Black ink onto Whisper White card stock before mounting onto a small strip of silver foil card stock.
I cut the silver foil die cut flower that is poking out the pocket using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. And also cut the little butterfly in black card stock from the same Die set.

Pink Pirouette and Whisper White card stock were used for the base and card front but then I decided to add a layer of DSP (think it's from the retired Carried Away SAB Paper Stack) and a Doily before adhering the pocket with dimensionals.

I look forward to getting the Framelits for this stamp set as I'm picking it will be a popular set for making teen cards especially as it makes giving gift cards or cash an easy solution - stick it in the pocket!
