A Stencil from Jar of Love

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope your day is going great. Only one more sleep before my pre-order goodies from the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue arrive. They are sitting in the courier depot just an hour away (sigh) The new catalogue will be available to view September 1st, so keep an eye out on my sidebar, I will add it as soon as I can. So many Christmas goodies!!!

Today, I made my own stencil using some scrap card and a small Die from Jar of Love. I then used my cardboard stencil and layered in some Sweet Sugar Plum with a sponge dauber onto Whisper White card.

 

Using a few different Framelits/Thinlits in my collection I cut the branch, large heart and sentiment banner and then fussy cut the Floral images.

I used Jar of Love and Happy Birthday Gorgeous for Floral images and  Teeny tiny sentiments for the greeting. Some Sweet Sugar Plum ink was applied in an ombré effect, to the Sunshine Wishes Heart Die cut.

I added a little bow made from neutral Bakers Twine and heat embossed the sentiment in white powder into Sahara Sand card.  A few pearls and it's done!

Jar of Love Birthday Team Swap

Our team had its monthly team get together a few weekends ago, and we all had to case a card, colour scheme, layout etc from the new Annual Catalogue.

As easy as that sounds for most, I have difficulty casing cards as I usually don't like all the elements. I can easily be turned off a cards layout and design elements simply due to choice of colours/combos. 

After flicking a few pages in I found the perfect colour combo I wanted to use on my swap card. There were others but until my new shipment of card stock arrives my choices were limited when cutting for ten full cards.

I had seen the Jar of Love and Heart from the Sunshine Wishes bundles used together by fellow SU demonstrator Ilina Crouse so I decided to use this concept and a colour scheme from the catalogue.

Using a Sweet Sugar Plum card base I added a layer of Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist card stock with tombow. The Whisper White card front was embossed using the Hexagon Dynamics EF.  I clear heat embossed the heart die cut using Versamark and the  Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. 

The flowers and leaves were stamped in Lemon Lime Twist and Sweet Sugar Plum, then die cut using Jar of Love Bundle. I also cut a strip of Sweet Sugar Plum card stock using the Heart border die from Jar of Love to tuck behind the sentiment. The little flower die cut from Softy Sky is made using the Paisley & Poises Framelits, I thought it needed the touch of blue to coordinate with the sentiment card stock. The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

 

The card on the right was picked by Tracey Wilson. I adore the colours and the simple background stamp. I loved Tracey's card so much I changed my wish list and ordered the Falling Flowers Bundle!

Fresh Florals DSP - Lemon Lime Twist

Welcome Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a set of cards using my new favourite in colour for 2017-2018 and the new Fresh Floral's DSP. The Lemon Lime Twist is just delish. Its so bright and clean, I can see myself using a lot of this colour in the future.

 

The card below uses Whisper White card stock and the flower thinlit from the Sunshine Wishes bundle. I die cut the flower and put that aside and used the remaining piece to stamp the sentiment on and then attach over the DSP using dimensionals.

 

I have stamped the sentiment from Birthday Delivery in Crumb Cake and tied a small bow using some neutral Bakers Twine. Each side of the card front has been lined with a 1" strip of DSP and then attached to a Sahara Sand card base.

The next card uses a sentiment from the Watercolour Words stamp set and has been kept simple with just a white and Lemon Lime Twist colour scheme.

 

Black and Lemon Lime Twist are amazing together! The contrast is striking. The card below showcases four strips of the different prints in the DSP pack. I then added topped a Doiley, and over that a black circle with the heart die from the Love Notes Bundle backed with some Lemon Lime Twist card stock to make it pop. The sentiment is from the soon to be released Birthday Delivery stamp set. I just love the banner - there are two sentiments in this set that fit the banner, so even better!!!

 

Cant wait to team Lemon Lime Twist with other colours in the SU Rainbow! Looking forward to sharing those with you soon.

Fresh Florals DSP - Berry Burst

Hello crafters,

Today I'm sharing a set of cards using the new Fresh Florals DSP in Berry Burst. This DSP Pack contains 40 sheets of 12"x12" double sided papers. All 5 new In colours are included and the patterns are stunning.

 

Each card only uses 1.5" of DSP and 1" of the coordinating card stock and Whisper White.

 

I love the Hot Air Balloon! This die cut along with the flowers and hearts from Sunshine Wishes were sponged using Berry Burst ink to achieve an ombre effect.

I used the dancing lady image from the Beautiful You stamp set and paper pieced her dress using some the of Fresh Floral's Dsp.

 

All the sentiments for these cards are also from the Beautiful You stamp set. Hope you liked my creations x

Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp Set - Prize Patrol

Today I am sharing a card I made with a new stamp set that I won at the SU Onstage in Perth. The stamp set is called Pocketful of Sunshine and it also has matching Framelits! I don't have the Framelits yet so cut the pocket freehand.

I was so excited to win this set when my prize patrol colour came up! Think I may have danced and jumped a little wee bit too much but just couldn't help myself!

I have used the cute little pocket stamp. The set comes with a few accessories to pop in the pocket. 

I stamped the pocket and the curved stitching detail in Smoky Slate onto Pink Pirouette card stock. I also cut two little strips of the Pink Pirouette for the belt loops and used Whisper White ribbon with jewels for the belt. 

 

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Lift Me Up stamp set and has been stamped in Archival Black ink onto Whisper White card stock before mounting onto a small strip of silver foil card stock.

I cut the silver foil die cut flower that is poking out the pocket using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. And also cut the little butterfly in black card stock from the same Die set. 

Pink Pirouette and Whisper White card stock were used for the base and card front but then I decided to add a layer of DSP (think it's from the retired Carried Away SAB Paper Stack) and a Doily before adhering the pocket with dimensionals.

I look forward to getting the Framelits for this stamp set as I'm picking it will be a popular set for making teen cards especially as it makes giving gift cards or cash an easy solution - stick it in the pocket!

More Swaps Birthday Blooms

Welcome to my blog crafty friends.

 

I made and took a few different designs to swap at the SU April 2017 Perth Convention. I adore the Birthday Blooms stamp set and couldn't resist making a few different cards using the same stamp. To not complicate things too much for my first Onstage swapping experience I also decided to make quite a few of the cards using the Mediterranean Moments stamp set and neutral coloured cardstock.

 

 

Plus I also made 10 of these Poppin Box Cards.

 

Here is a close up of three of the cards I haven't shown on my blog previously and were only designed a few weeks prior to Onstage (the Med Moments cards I designed a few months ago and details for those cards can be found in an earlier post)

 

 

This card has a Whisper White Card base and then a layer of black and a layer of pink pirouette card stock. I have used the Happy Hearts TIEF and the Hello sentiment from Pop of Paradise. I have stamped the Birthday Blooms image using Archival Black Ink onto Shimmery White card and then water coloured using an Aqua Painter with Pink Pirouette, Old Olive and Cucumber Crush inks. I added a leaf die cut in Pink Pirouette using the Botanical Builders Framelits.

 

 

I did a few in Island Indigo and Wisteria Wonder because well not everyone loves pink like I do. The Layering Squares Framelits were used to cut the frame in Wisteria Wonder and the hole in the Whisper White card front. I adhered this with foam strips to a layer of Island Indigo that was attached to a Whisper White card base. The Birthday Blooms flower image was stamped in Archival Black ink and water coloured using an Aqua Painter with Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder and Old Olive inks. The sentiment Best Wishes is from the Bloom & Wishes stamp set and the background splashes in Island Indigo ink are made using the Timeless Textures stamps.

And then I just couldn't stop using this stamp set so made these So Saffron ones with some added stitching from the trusty sewing machine

 

I have used So Saffron, Whisper White and Sahara Sand card stock. The Sahara Sand layer was sewed using white cotton and then embossed using the Hexagons TIEF. I then sewed the doily before adding the Birthday Blooms image which was water coloured and fussy cut. I coloured using So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake inks. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and was heat embossed in white powder on black card stock and tucked under the flower image.

 

And these are the swaps I brought home!

 

Omg!!!!! Cards, Card Fronts, Bookmarks, Gift Tags, Magnets, Keychains, Bags of Lollies, Chocolates, Tea Bags, Coffee, Mints, Badge, Affirmation Bottle, Scissor Charms, Tea Light Candles, Easter Eggs & Chapstick!!!! The diversity was astonishing and the talent displayed in all the creations I revived was absolutely amazing! 

Rad Dad

Good Day Crafty Friends, thanks for stopping by. Today I have a card to share that could be used for Fathers Day or a Rad Dad's Birthday.

 

My hubby is a Rad Dad! He is not the biological father of my daughter but has been her Dad for over 10 years. In my mind and my daughters, my Hubby is a Rad Dad. He is selfless, loving, caring and is the rock of our family unit. This card was made for my partner Dan.

 

I picked 3 stamps from the Custom Tee stamp set - Rad Dad, #1 and All Star Champ. Using Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Tempting Turquoise inks I randomly stamped the images onto Whisper White Card stock. Then to fill in the white spaces I used the little star in Wisteria Wonder.

 

I then mounted the stamped WW onto Black card stock. Cut a strip of Black card stock to  cover the length of the card before placing die cuts and sentiments over the top.

 

Using the T Shirt Builder Framelits I cut a Tee out of black card stock and then heat embossed the sentiment from the SAB Designer Tee stamp set. The love was die cut using the sunshine wishes thinlits and adhered with dimensionals so it was slightly raised above the sentiment underneath.

 

This card would be easy to reproduce for any occasion by simply swapping out the stamps for the required occasion and replacing the die cuts with what you have available in your crafting stash.

Beautiful You Mirror Technique

Mirror Technique is easier than it looks. I just stamped the image onto the plastic sheet of my Stamp-a-majig and then aligned it to where I wanted the mirror image and pressed firmly.  I used Archival Black ink as I wanted to use the new water colour pencils to colour the image in.

 

The hearts on the card base was achieved using the Die from the Love Notes Bundle, which I also used the arrow Die from. The die cut word Hope is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

Pool Party and Black card stock were used with the image water colouring done on Shimmery White card stock. I also used some scrap DSP from the Cupcakes and Carousels Paper Stack. 

Hope my card has inspired you to get into your crafty space and pull out your favourite stamps and apply some ink to them.

Ombré Beautiful You

I just adore the Beautiful You stamp set, like seriously I cannot stop playing with it! Plus, I went a little crazy when I first pulled it out, and stamped way too many images as I was on a roll with my white craft ink and felt I needed to use up the huge puddle I had created. 

 

For this card I used water colour paper and taped it down to a board using Frog Tape (my partner uses it in his line of work and in my opinion is better than painters tape plus it's free for me - not for him lol)

I then used a wide paint brush and lightly applied water to the bottom third. Applied Ink then let dry and repeated the process twice more in different tones.

I used Melon Mambo, Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride inks with an aqua painter to make the ombré effect on the background.

The Sunshine die cut is actually the negative of the Sunshine Wishes Die, so it's in two pieces and is adhered to the card with dimensionals.

 

The lady is stamped in Black Archival Ink on Sahara Sand card stock and coloured in using White Craft Ink with an Aqua Painter. I used the Alphabet Labeller stamp set to make the letters for the Hello and fussy cut them before adhering with dimensionals. The small hearts are made using the Owl Builder Punch.

Beautiful You & Succulents

Who doesn't love rainbow coloured things?!?! I do anyways and I love sponging my own backgrounds. I especially love using cheerful, bright colours like the ones used in the card below. Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.

The lady from the Beautiful You stamp is one of my absolute favourites from the 2017 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue. I've used it again on this card, stamped in Black Archival ink and coloured with White Craft ink and an Aqua Painter. The frame surrounding her was made using the Layering Square Framelits.

 

 

After sponging I splashed lightly with water and let dry before adhering embellishments. The congrats Die is from Sunshine Wishes and the succulents from Oh So Succulent bundle. Pink Bakers Twine and a few drops of the fine tip glue as clear droplets were the only other items added.
