Magical Day Wizard

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope your day is going well. Quick post to share a card I am sending off today. Its a simple one using the cute Wizard from the new Magical Day stamp set.

I started by making the water coloured background using Shimmery White card with splashes of Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder Inks. Put aside to dry while you work on the other components.

The wizard image was stamped in Black Momento Ink and coloured using Pool Party & Smoky Slate SU Blends. The Celebrate You Thinlits have been used to die cut the "amazing" in Black and Pool Party card. Layer the Pool Party over the black, allowing a little black to show, providing a shadow and also raising the die cut slightly without too much bulk.

Silver Foil card was used to matt the card front and also for the Stitched Circle . The sentiments "YOU" and "are simply" were stamped in Black Momento ink in the centre top portion of the card front allowing room for the other elements.

Adhere die cuts and stamped image with tombow and then adhere card front to a Pool Party card base.

Thanks for stopping by today, until next time, stay crafty

Magical Day Unicorn

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope you are having a great day. Just a quick post today to share a card that made me giggle as I was creating it. Hope the recipient has a chuckle when she opens it.....she may not.  I filled it with loads of tiny punched hearts that probably fell all over her floor!! I can just picture her laughing and cursing simultaneously, as she cleans up the mess.

I just adore the Magical Day stamp set. The chubby Unicorn is simple and easy to colour as are the other images in the set - the mermaid, seahorse, knight, dragon and wizard.

I have shown the "clean" version of this card,  with a die cut YOU flipped around and the U cut down to form the J.

"May Unicorn's fart rainbow coloured sequins all over your day"

On a Whisper White card front I cut two lines using a stitched curved line die (not Stampin' Up!) but two simple cuts made with a trimmer will suffice. Place this over the card base and lightly mark with a pencil the space you want filled with sequins.

Stamp card front ( I used the tiny sparkles in Powder Pink, but they do not show up well in the photo), add White Glitter card die cut clouds and place the coloured and fussy cut Unicorn just over the opening of the two lines.

I lined the marked area with double sided adhesive, ensuring a small overlapped the pencil marks. Then I simply poured the irredescent sequins container on the adhesive and poured off the excess. I pressed the sequins flat and then poured them over again to fill the gaps.

Adhere the card front to the card base with Tombow. You could raise the front from the base with dimensionals but this one was being posted so I needed to reduce the bulk.

Until next time, stay crafty

We Must Celebrate - Shadow Box Card

Hello Crafty Friends

Hope your having a great day. I am so excited to share today's post as I have been keeping this information to myself since December. For those who visit my blog regularly,  you would have noticed a new Design Team Member Badge added to my sidebar.
Todays card uses a tutorial by Bronwyn Eastley at AddINKtive Designs.  Every month I will be sharing a creation using one of Bronwyn's fabulous tutorials. Spoilt for choice, I finally decided to use the Shadow Box Card Tutorial. So much wow factor and the card folds flat for posting! Double Bonus. You can purchase this tutorial from Bronwyn, here.

stampin up, we must celebrate

I have created the Shadow Box with Sahara Sand card. I tried adding DSP to the outside but because I added so many elements to the inside, it became very busy so I have left the front and back plain. The inside back and sides have been lined with Pool Party card. Pear Pizzaz and Emerald Envy card were used for the grass tab inserts.
The Woodland Critters - Bear, Racoon, Rabbit and Squirrel are from the new We Must Celebrate stamp set. The sentiment, mushrooms and acorn are also part of this set. The cute birds are from the new Flying Home stamp set. All images were stamped in Black Momento ink, coloured using Stampin' Blends and then fussy cut.
The banner surrounding the sentiment is from the Number of Years set. I have used the Sprinkles of Life bundle to create the tree and the clouds were created using the Lift Me Up Bundle.
I absolutely adore this card style. The base is simple and fast to construct and uses only one sheet of A4 card. While I was decorating my card I had so many idea's for future cards using this impressive and fun fold.
I have already started on two other versions of the Shadow Box Card. I cannot wait to share them. You can view/purchase Bronwyn's amazing tutorials at AddINKtive Designs here. All projects come with detailed, easy to follow instructions and photographs.
Until next time, stay crafty

Just Add Ink #392 - Blog Hop

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome to another year of Just Add Ink Challenges. We are starting off the year of challenges with a Blog Hop.  The entire Just Add Ink Design Team are hopping so we have loads of inspiration to start off your crafting year. If you are following the hop you will have arrived here from Jo Stubbings. Be sure to follow the hop all the way through to see all the creations the DT have to share with you.

The Blog Hop challenge is to Just Add Something “New”. We all know as crafters that sometime over the festive season we got new crafting goodies. I was an extremely lucky girl to receive a brand new Silhouette Cameo 3. I have wanted one for a while, so best I learn the evil machines secrets.

I was also lucky enough to be able to place a small Stampin Up order Just after Christmas. My cards today use one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets - Epic Celebrations. I love those sneakers! I made three cards all with a fairly neutral colour scheme so that they can be used for either female or male teens. The guitar image also lends itself to musically themed cards.

My first card is a simple box card made to look like a Guitar amplifier.  I have heat embossed the guitar (gold) earphones (white) onto Black card and then fussy cut. Silver Foil card and a small dot Embossing Folder were used to create the speaker. The Gold Foil buttons were punched using the smallest circles on the Owl Punch. White Heat Embossed sentiments and DSP were added to the box card along with strips on the sides for handles.

The second card uses those funky sneakers coloured with Pool Party Blenders. The Sahara Sand card front was heat embossed in white and adhered to the White card base. Some vellum was roughly torn and adhered with a spot of Tombow. Over the Tombow spot, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party Stitched circles were added with dimensionals. The sneakers and Heat Embossed sentiment were adhered with Tombow.

And my third card is another Guitar themed card, using torn vellum as in the card above. The Guitar was inked in Versamark and stamped onto Smoky Slate Card. This was adhered to a layer of Black which was then adhered to the Smoky Slate Card Base. The Guitar was stamped in Black Momento Ink and coloured using SU Blends. Some Black & White Bakers Twine was tucked behind the guitar and a White Heat Embossed sentiment added with Tombow.

Next up in the Blog Hop is the super talented Kim Badelt with her stunning project. Enjoy!

Colour INKspiration #25 - Apron of Love

Hello Crafty Friends,
Welcome to another year of Colour INKspiration challenges and the Colour INKspiration #25 Blog Hop. You are visiting Jackie Aitken, in Western Australia, and have possibly arrived from visiting the lovely and super creative, Lou Kitzelman in stunning Nambour, Queensland. Wasn't Lou's creation absolutely stunning!

To start off the New Year, we have a fresh and vibrant colour combination for you - Lemon Lime Twist, Night of Navy and Whisper White.
Image may contain: plant, drink and nature
I chose to make a Mother's Day card using this fabulous colour combination along with the new Apron of Love Bundle. As I am gifting a small piece of jewellery,  I decided to make a "Card with Gift Box". This style of card cannot be posted, but it can be kept and put on display after the gift has been opened.

The card base has two sides with the reverse perfect to write your personal message. The front is for decorating. And of course the box comes off the card and has a lid.

I started with a large Perfect Days Memories & More card, cut down and adhered to the card base. The Apron and front of the gift box have been created using a small Perfect Days Memories & More card.

The Oven Glove, Rolling Pin, Cupcakes and Apron front have been white heat embossed onto Night of Navy & Lemon Lime Twist card. The Mum sentiment has been fussy cut and adhered with Tombow.

Silver Foil card was used to create the baking tray and the cooking utensils. All the sentiments are from the Apron of Love stamp set. The cupcakes were created using the Lift Me Up Stamp set and matching dies.

I finished the card by adhering a small silver foil gift bow to the top of the gift box. I hope you are inspired to give this kind of card a go. It is easier than it looks and the fun part is in the decorating.

Next up in the blog hop is the amazingly talented Denita Wright-Smee and her gorgeous creation. Enjoy x

Sweet Soirée One Pack Wonder

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Welcome, I hope you are having a fabulous day. Today, I am sharing the final group of cards made using the Free SAB Sweet Soirée Memories & More Card Pack.

Card Designs #17 - 23

Design # 17

This card uses some retired DSP - substitute or a simple Old Olive Ink splash should suffice.  I have simply layered the small “Hello” Memories & More Card over the DSP, then using the stitched shaped Framelits I have cut the hearts from a Small card and layered it on top. Add some bling and it’s done.

Design #18

Again, using up some retired DSP I have layered the card front with striped Old Olive DSP, adhered the Small colourful Memories & More Card in the centre. Then I’ve added Old Olive Card which was heat embossed in white using the best wishes sentiment - stamped three times.

Design #19

Another simple one layer Card which you can omit the stitching from. This is simply a large Memories & More Card Cut down to fit the card base.

Design #20

Again, simply a large Memories & More Card with some stitching which can be omitted. I left the sentiments off these two as I would like the opportunity to add one at a later date eg thanks, congrats etc

Design #21

I am going to admit, I really didn’t like theses cards, they were all in a pile according to colours and were left till last.  However, when I was mucking around with different orientations I stumbled across this design and found it appealing.  I layered the top card with Whisper White before attaching it on an angle over the other Small Memories & More Card with grid lines.  Adhere layers to the large card which was attached to the card base with Tombow. The sentiment from Cake Soirée was stamped in Black Archival Ink and cut using a circle from the Stiched Shapes Framelits. To finish it off I added a flower and leaves inked in Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Old Olive & Lemon Lime Twist.

Design #22

Only one of these were made as the other portions of the Memories & More Cards were used on previous designs. So basically this card and the next are one offs.

The card front has been embossed with the Hexagons Folder and attached to card base. I have layered Berry Burst Card begins the M&M Card pieces and attached to card front with dimensionals. The sentiment was white heat embossed on Berry Burst Card and cut apart to be attached to card. To finish off the card, some White Bakers Twine was wrapped around the card front and a bow attached.

Design #23

This is the only card that uses a coloured card base -  Old Olive. Using the large Memories & More Card, I have cut it into four using a stitched shape Framelit. These were layered with Whisper White card before attaching to card base. The Cake was stamped in Black Momento and coloured using Stampin’ Up! Blends. I really love the Cake image but didn’t use it heavily in this set of cards as I am waiting on the Dies! So the cake was fussy cut.

A delicate doily was placed in the centre, Old Olive die cut square layered over this before adhering the Cake. The sentiment was white heat embossed onto Rich Razzleberry Card and adhered with dimensionals.

That’s it folks - all 44 Cards, 23 designs using the Free Sale-a-bration Card pack. It honestly took longer to photograph and Blog the cards than to make them. But I am now sorted for Birthday Cards for a few months.

Hope you enjoyed my “One Pack Wonder” I have had so much feedback about this concept I may consider doing a “One Pack Wonder” with every Memories & More Card pack Stampin’ Up release.

Wishing you all a wonderfully creative week. Stay crafty, until next time

SAB Sweet Soirée Memories & More

Good Day Crafty Friends,

Hope you are having a fabulous day. Following on from the previous two days posts, I am here to share another 6/44 Card designs created with the Free Sale-a-Bration Sweet Soirée Memories & More Card Pack.

Card Designs #11 - 16

Design #11

This one is super easy. To create card front, stamp Hardwood Background stamp in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White Card. Adhere to card base. Stamp sentiment from Cake Soirée directly onto Memories & More card. Place green diagonal striped card behind on a slight angle. Add a baker twine bow and some bling - done!

Design #12

These ones are just as fast and easy as the card above. Again, Stamp Hardwood Background Stamp in Crumb Cake onto Whisper White Card. Stamp sentiment from Cake Soirée directly onto Memories & More Card.

Design # 13

These cards were cased from the Occasions Catalogue and was the inspiration behind creating all 44 cards. Basically 3 Memories & More Cards (1 large, 2small) are layered on top of each other. Top card is stamped with the Happy Birthday sentiment from Cake Soirée in Archival Black Ink. Bakers Twine and bling were added.

Design #14

I adore how these two next cards look, especially considering I didn’t like the Old Olive & Calypso Coral together.  I think it’s the colour of the flowers which I like. I’m so not a fan of orange tones, so I struggle a lot when having to work with any member of the orange family.

The Whisper White card fronts have been embossed and adhered to the card bases with Tombow. The two small Memories & More Cards were layered diagonally and adhered with Tombow.

The sentiment has been white heat embossed on Old Olive Card and then die cut using the stitched shaped Framelits. The floral images from Cake Soirée were inked using Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. The foliage used Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive & Pool Party.

Design #15

While I was heat embossing and die cutting the sentiments for the previous Card I made an extra set for these cards. This was attached to the Small Memories & More Card which was layered with a piece of Rich Razzleberry. Then simply adhere to the Whisper White embossed card front and attach to card base.

Design #16

Another super easy and fast card to produce. The only things needed to be done were cut the large card down to fit the card base, before attaching wrap with White Bakers Twine. Add a bow to the twine. Attach to card base. To finish, white heat embossed sentiment onto Berry Burst Card, attach with mini dimensionals and add some bling.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are able to call back again tomorrow when I share the final set of cards made with the Sweet Soirée Memories & More Card Pack.

Until next time, stay awesome & crafty
