Convention Swaps

Hello Crafty Friends,

As mentioned in an earlier post, I made over 100 swaps for the Perth Onstage event. I did not make just one design lol. I made 7 because I knew everyone has different taste when it comes to colours etc. Here is one of the seven designs. I made 10 full cards as part of my swaps. This is the Poppin Box Card -box and wrap tutorial by Gemma Clarke.

 

And here is a picture of all angles of the box, wrap and belly band.

 

As you can see I used a few different bundles to decorate the box.  I took the colour inspiration from the DSP I was using so that it was easier to coordinate. I used the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP, Whisper White, Black, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay Cardstock with a few teeny bits of Vellum. I used Archival Black ink for most of the stamped images, with the addition of So Saffron and Bermuda Bay inks for colouring the hot air balloon, sponging the inside card, flowers in the jar etc.

I made five in each colour card base - So Saffron & Bermuda Bay and decorated with a piece of DSP that covered the front third of the card. 

 

To decorate the belly band, I cut strips of Cardstock and attached to the middle before using the Layering Circles Framelits to make 3 circles in white, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay before using a 4th circle to cut DSP from the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack.

The For You sentiment is from the Jar of Love Bundle and was heat embossed in white powder on Bermuda Bay card stock.

I made the little tassels as I felt the fronts were a tad too plain. Using scraps of So Saffron and Bermuda Bay I ruled a small line down from the top edge of my strip of Cardstock and using scissors cut lines upto the pencil mark. 

 

Then just add a loop of Bakers Twine at the beginning of the strip of Cardstock and start rolling. I used Tombow to secure the Bakers Twine and to close up the rolled tassel. Let dry then attach a small thin strip of silver foil Cardstock around the top. 

 

I stamped the inside with two sentiments and the carousel image from the Carousel Birthday Stamp Set using archival black ink and then using sponges I lightly sponged So Saffron and Bermuda Bay ink.

 

Four sides of the box were decorated using the Layering Squares Framelits to cut perfect squares from the DSP. The Layering Circles Framelits were used to cut two of each colour in So Saffron & Bermuda Bay to place over the DSP before decorating further.

 

 

Each side has a different image/bundle used to decorate over the DSP and Layering Circle. This side uses the Beautiful You stamp set and the T Shirt Builder Bundle. The lady image was paper pieced using DSP from the same Paper Stack. Her hat was coloured using So Saffron Marker. Sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  I also used the triple banner punch to make the little banner behind the Tee.

 

The Love Notes bundle was used for this side with the envelope cut in Vellum. The heart die was cut in black card stock and the note card was stamped in Bermuda Bay for the hearts and Archival Black for the Happy Birthday. The little sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

 

Up & Away Bundle for this side. Images were stamped in Archival Black on Shimmery White cardstock and coloured in using an Aqua Painter with So Saffron and Bermuda Bay inks. I had to add a little white die cut cloud too just because lol

 

And the Jar of Love bundle on this side. I did die cut a piece of vellum and put it over the stamped jar image so it looked more like glassware. The sentiment is from the Blooms & Wishes stamp set, which was heat embossed in white powder onto black card stock.

Custom Tee

Hello - Welcome back or thanks for visiting my blog for the first time. Hope you are having a crafty day wherever you are in the world.

  

One of the wonderful ladies I often craft with online, is going through a rough patch at the moment so thought I would make this card and send it to her to remind her just how awesome she is.

 

Today I felt like stamping a lot - some days I feel like getting extra inky opposed to just die cutting with a stamped sentiment. I used a Whisper White card base and card front. On the card front I stamped the background Here is a close up. Can you see the background stamp?! It's the little arrow from the Tee Shirt Builder Stamp set.  I've stamped it in Bermuda Bay & Wisteria Wonder. I liked it so much I used it to make another card shown a little later in the post.

 

 

I cut a large circle from Island Indigo card stock using the Layering Circles Framelits and stamped the sentiment near the bottom in Archival Black ink. The sentiment I used is from the Bookcase Builder stamp set - I just adore the mix of fonts. The 3 T Shirts were stamped and die cut using the Custom Tee Bundle.

 

 

Using the same little arrow stamp from the Custom Tee stamp set but this time I stamped in lines across a small piece of Whisper White card stock. I used Wisteria Wonder, Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay Ink. 

I cut three little square panels and the slightly larger scalloped shape in Smoky Slate card stock using the layering squares Framelits. The sentiment from the Bookcase Builder set was stamped in Smoky Slate and cut out using the Project Life Dies.

Rad Dad

Good Day Crafty Friends, thanks for stopping by. Today I have a card to share that could be used for Fathers Day or a Rad Dad's Birthday.

 

My hubby is a Rad Dad! He is not the biological father of my daughter but has been her Dad for over 10 years. In my mind and my daughters, my Hubby is a Rad Dad. He is selfless, loving, caring and is the rock of our family unit. This card was made for my partner Dan.

 

I picked 3 stamps from the Custom Tee stamp set - Rad Dad, #1 and All Star Champ. Using Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Tempting Turquoise inks I randomly stamped the images onto Whisper White Card stock. Then to fill in the white spaces I used the little star in Wisteria Wonder.

 

I then mounted the stamped WW onto Black card stock. Cut a strip of Black card stock to  cover the length of the card before placing die cuts and sentiments over the top.

 

Using the T Shirt Builder Framelits I cut a Tee out of black card stock and then heat embossed the sentiment from the SAB Designer Tee stamp set. The love was die cut using the sunshine wishes thinlits and adhered with dimensionals so it was slightly raised above the sentiment underneath.

 

This card would be easy to reproduce for any occasion by simply swapping out the stamps for the required occasion and replacing the die cuts with what you have available in your crafting stash.

Bokeh Effect

One of the sponging effects I adore for soft backgrounds is the Bokeh technique.

 

Aren't they just stunning! They are reasonably easy to make - just a little inky.  Just take some white card stock, sponge randomly in a few chosen colours, then using different sized circle stencils sponge in white. I didn't have a stencil so just cut a few different sized circles using Dies and Punches on Cardstock and used that as my stencil.

I used Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Marina Mist Inks and sponged randomly before applying White Craft Ink using the circle stencil. The Mediterranean Moments stamp was inked in Black Archival and coloured using the Water Colour Pencils. The Happy Birthday sentiment was heat embossed in white. Black Card Stock was used to matt before adhering to Pool Party card front.

 

When sponging I often use the same three colours - Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo. They blend well together and is a bright and impactful colour scheme.  The card below is an example of this colour combo.

 

Pineapples!! I love them! Raw and on Pizza!! When I lived in Queensland we drove a Motorhome from the Sunshine Coast upto Airlie Beach and saw many Pineapple Planations, Banana Fields and Sugar Cane Crops. The Pineapples were the sweetest, freshest and cheapest I have had the pleasure of experiencing. Whenever I see Pineapples it reminds me of this fun trip and the memories.

 

Using the same technique - laying colours down with sponges then applying circles in White Craft Ink, I then just placed it directly onto a black card front, heat embossed the sentiment in white and attached the die cut Tee using a dimensional. The Tee was made using the Custom Tee Bundle and the Pineapple from the Pop of Paradise stamp set.

Custom Tee

Look at these cute T Shirts!! They have been made using the Custom Tee Bundle, which is available in the Stamin' Up! 2017 Occasions Catalogue. I haven't had a real decent play with this bundle yet but did manage to whip a few cards up as I wanted to see how the little tees looked using stamps from other sets.

I used the Hedgehog and Ladybugs from the Love You Lots Hostess Stamp Set and the Cat and Parrot are from the Pretty Kitty and Bella & Friends stamp sets. I stamped Black Archival ink onto Shimmery white card stock and used aqua painters to colour the animals, then let it dry before colouring the tee shirt backgrounds. Adhered with dimensionals the little tees pop right off the card.

 

I used to work in the retail clothing industry and making these little cuties reminded me of how many tees the staff and I would fold everyday. 

As you can see the options are limitless! And not one of these tees use the stamps from the bundle. I have yet to try those ones out. 

This card uses some DSP from the Sale-a-bration promotion, its called Carried Away and coordinates perfectly with the Up & Away bundle. But thought I would use a smidgen for this card as it required some Peakaboo Peach to match the colour of the ink used to water colour the T Shirt. The little cupcake is from Bella & Friends. The black and white DSP is from the Playful Palette Paper Stack, and I added some black and white Bakers Twine to match.

Using some more of the Carried Away DSP, I layered a quarter of the card front with Mint Macaron and adhered some pink Bakers Twine. The T Shirts have been stamped with the Hedgehog from Love you Lots stamp set and the Cat from Pretty Kitty. I used the Owl Punch to make the little hearts and the cloud die from Up & Away.

This card was made in a couple of minutes as I was using up scraps and die cuts I had sitting around. The flowers are from the Botanicals Builder Framelits, I also used the Layering Circles Framelits and DSP from the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Paper Stack. The T Shirt was stamped in Black Archival using the Ladybugs from the Love You Lots Hostess stamp set and coloured in using an aqua painter and Daffodil Delight and Real Red inks.
